Hi Hetal & all,
I am facing problem with my 2 month old baby from very bigning that in night my son's nose become block. some more sound come when he takes breath.
he has littil bit problem of cold & colic. doctor give us a nosal drop, but problem is continue.
Please help me some home made solution or good medicine.
Thanks Sonia Gupta replied. my dear frnd dont worry if u can then plz give him steam before g to bed. Hetal replied. 1. clean his nose, by sprayng some drops/saline drops and

clear the nasal passges.

the temp/heater temp inside the home or room/where baby sleeps,,should not be more than 75.ideal temp is 72-75.

4. make sure to keep his feet covrd with socks,,and if your child is wearng full nightwear/sleep wear or sack,,make sure to make him wear 100% cotton liners inside ! sometimes babies get mild cold and might cause some blocked nose/with dried mucus due to dry air inside the house.

5. upto 3-4months, babies do have a lil nasal congestion,,its due to thr nasal passges gettng matured,,and all those allergens are still new for them ! keep thr nasals clean regularly
and it should help.

can you tell me what kind of blocked nose your baby is having ? like you feel it is dry ? or it has dry mucus, or is stuffy nose with mucus like we have in cold ! thn it will be easier,,,however,,from birth to 3months, stuffiness in nose,dry mucus,runny nose - all is common..

i want you to go thru this and see if it helps somewhat !

other is , most babies who are colicky or are havng reflux, have some probs related to blocked nasal passages..

1. make your child sleep elevated, it will keep his nasal drained downwards or will not let mucus, if ne, to enter lungs,

2.if you are bf, make sure to eliminate gasy foods in your diet, reduce the dairy prods,reduce brinjal,beans, garlic and see if that helps.

give him a good lukewarm oil massage(if at all he is not allergic with ne lubricant), give him a good warm bath and a good feed. before he sleeps make sure he is relaxed and sleeps well....colicky babies needs relaxng baths/massages...

nothin else i see..make sure you apply a lil baby vicks rub on his chest, back of chest/back,a lil just below ear lobes, and a light touch on forehead,,will help soothe him.
offer him water with dropper or a lil spoon at night, so that the nasals are cleared more often..it will drain out/flush out !
