Due Date Club February 2005:Any one having rib pain??

Name: vidi

Hai all,

Hope all of you are dealing welll..and it's so relaxing to imagine that we will be in the third trimester soon.

But am having a severe pain often in my upper left part of the abdomen near the ribs....and it occurs mostly after the dinner or the meal....and my tummy gets tight too.

many told me its only the growing uterus but i want to be sure that is it something to worry about or not....?

I have started taking short meals now...as my doctor suggested and I feel more comfortable...any other suggestions????

love to all,
vidi

Thanks Niti,Tweetie,Usha and Jan Mom.
I am relived to know that it's nothing to worry about...

But i would suggest u all to take short meals but more often.my doc has suggested 6 meals instead of 3.but i manage to take 4 and it helps.

Tweetie try to take min 20 min walk after u eat....b'coz i can't also lie on my sides as it hurts....but it's OK after the walk...

Love to all,
take care
Vidi

Dear Vidi!!!

It is same with me from last few days even i am having pain in my ribs as well as in between breasts exactly on top of abdomen even i feel it is because of pressure........ I feel lot of burning sensation also & feel as if food is coming up.

I even pucked yesterday twice, planning to call my doc today.

Hi Vidi,

I too have pain in my ribcage after a meal, and when lie down on my sides the respective side hurts. I believe it is the mounting pressure of the uterus as the baby grows. Tomorrow I will be meeting with my Doc. Will ask him if this is of concern.

Take Care,
Tweetie

Hi,

I am from Jan board. I used to have the rib pain after my dinner at 5th and 6th month. When my 7th month started it automatically reduced..I was having this pain, that time it was very uncomfaortable to sit..I think it is the growing uterus's pressure..Do you know from 5th month onwards(once the uterus reaches above your belly button) your internal organs will be compressed to make room for the uterus. So its defenitely that only..
ot to worry..

Take care
Jan mom

Hi Vidi

I think this is another case of heartburn, avoid spicy foods and take plenty of fruits and ofcourse smaller meals.
