Hello everybody

My son is 4 months old and doesn't sleep very well.He is being exclusively breast fed.In the night, his last feed is around 9.He sleeps well till about 2 a.m.After that, he just tosses and turns and doesn't sleep at all.Doesn't cry either.I feed him once in the night. He sleeps for a couple of hours in the morning.Because of all this,he feels very sleepy by evening 7 and is cranky.I don't know how to get him into a good sleep routine.Any suggestions/advice is welcome.

Hi Sandhya,

I guess you are from my Jun 2004 group only. Ananya has the same problem with her sleep. She is cranky by 8 and sleeps early getting up at 2 or 3. However I have noticed that if I tire her in the evening, she sleeps throughout the night. Yesterday also when we took her for a long walk (abt 45 mts), she came back and slept thru the night getting up only at 6 in the morning. Also I am giving her gripe water before her last feed at arnd 9. So, try this out.. give him lots of exercise late in the evening, and play with him till his last feed after which he would sleep well.

All the best. Hope this works for you too!

Radha

thanks, veena

You can try to give him oil message around 8:30 in the evening and give him bath afterwards. Than his feeding is at 9. So, feed him and try to put him to sleep.

Good Luck!

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
