Due Date Club November 2007:Nausea

hi all

I am in my 8th week and having severe nausea. It is not like few hours in the morning or few in the evening but i have been throwing up anytime during the day. I am using wrist bands and my nurse suggested to start vitamin B6 supplement but still not relieved. Is anyone also feeling same? I would like to know what all are you doing to control nausea? Thanks Lekha

Hi anjali,
you are really lucky that you dont throw up. I am throwing up like nothing, 2 days before i couldnt eat anything, whatever i eat, it used to make me nauseaous. But since last 2 days i am doing little better, things like wrist bands, ginger ale are working for me. Crackers are not working for me either. Sipping ginger ale through out the day is really helping me a lot.
Thanks for replying me,
regards
Lekha

I had nausea for my first baby and now for the second one too. I never vomitted, but due to that I started getting severe headaches.

I often lick on something citrus like lemon/line/orange , sometimes with salt on it. Even I love tasting little mango achar...makes me feel good!

Doctors ask us to have crackers as soon as you get up , to reduce nausea.. i never tried that because I personally dont like to eat anything salty early in the mornings

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have new/different ideas...

Anjali

Domperidone
There is a medicine for this condition. If your child is spitting up BF as well as lactogen, then Farex would not be the solution. There is a medicine which contains Domperidone made exclusively for babies which effectively treats this condition. Ask your doctor and then if he gives the go ahead, you can try this medicine. ... - Mel [View Message]
