Hair Care:unfortunate incident after headshave. Please help
2010-09-22
Name: Madhavi ..
I am Madhavi. 24 years old. two weeks back, we went to palani and for the first time in my life, I got my headshave though I had very thick long hair, believing that God' s grace would be with our family and its only hair and would grow back in no time.
But , an unfortunate incident happened. When we were at Palani, and when i was about to get into bus .. paint remover solution spilled on my crown. I wiped it and covered with scarf, after about an hour, when we went back to room, I felt burning sensation and cleaned my head. It has been two weeks, hair is growing normally on back and sides , but on the crown and the front, there is no trace of hair growth.. I got a scalp test and to my horror doctor said that the crown and frontal portion got badly affected and no possibility of hair growth.. and a transplant would be impossible because of the extent of damage. So , with no other option, I need to know your suggestions , desperately.

Spandana replied. Madhavi I have seen ur msg today and I am sorry for the situation. But it is to be accepted by u by now that u are a gundu girl for the rest of ur life. Sorry to say this bcoz i have seen some cases like urs who had no regrowth after treatments also.Lucky thing with them they r boys. But in ur case being a woman / girl it causes pain and embarrassment. but stopping studies for this cause is stupidity. have a head shave regularly and move for some days without covering ur gundu. gradually u will get used to expose ur gundu.Let people enjoy it. u r infact becoming a cause for people joy be proud of it.
Smile my dear gundu girl(just kiddindg to change ur mood).keep smiling and dont worry.

i want to say some thing true that paint remover will give effect only color problem on hair. it will give effect on shoft of hair but it wont give effect the regrowth of the hair. i am having the 4yr of exp in hair treatment. there is no need to feel bad that hair wont grow back,if you need treatment with low cost with max result.

Radha replied. Dear Madhavi
Looking from your English, I think you are a well educated girl. Are you employed or still studying?
I am sorry to hear that paint remover fell on your ' gundu' head and has caused a portion to become bald. I deeply sympathise with you. But I express some of my thoughts which I hope will help you in overcoming this incident though you may not like some of my comments.
1. Did you shave in Palani or Tirupati. Not that it matters. Just curiosity.
2. Never think that God has not given a benevolent answer to your hair sacrifice. I would think He might have answered it really benevolently by letting you off with just a permanent bald head. Who knows! But for your hair sacrifice, your family might have got into a serious accident with loss of limbs or even life. The other day I heard that in Bangalore a tree fell on a rickshaw killing the driver instantly. In your case, such a deep tragedy has not happened.
3. I understand the no hair on top and hair sides and back gives a funny look for a female. Why don' t you take it as a signal from God that He expects you to be regularly bald in this life? Getting a head shave is joyous as I have found out in my three tonsures so far. Since hair may not grow on your crown, keep the full head regularly clipper shaved or razor shaved. You will get used to the feel and look.
4. If you are not yet married, then tough luck. You may find it difficult to get a suitable groom. But remember, the world still has good and understanding people and if you are lucky you will find an understanding husband who may even like you to be regularly bald.
5. If you are already married, then I hope your husband and in-laws sympathise with your predicament and will not mind you to be regularly fully bald.
6. You can still try some good Ayurvedic medicine in Kerala (Kottayam, Trissur, etc.) which may eventually regenerate hair growing follicles on your crown. But it is not guaranteed, it may take a few years of treatment to show results.
7. But the best way to overcome the predicament is to smile and bear it. Get joy in keeping your head fully bald and going around bald with a smiling face.

Radha,
Thanks for your reply, though it sounded a bit scary. I am not married and I am in the middle of doing my bsc. Now I stopped going to college.
I can´ t come to accept that I have to keep my head shaved for the rest of my life. I sincerely hope some treatment or surgery exists for this condition. Because I dont consider going to college with a bald head is an option , I would rather stop going. Anyways thanks for your suggestions sister.
