hi Manu ..

generally docs do not recommend travel after 32 weeks, as Dee said ask your doctor ... specially the travel b/w US adn indi is a little long journey ...

i do not know much abt precautions during air travel in the later stage of pregnancy as i am not planning any , but i think you can ask for a seat wiht more legspace , keep having fluids and have your seatbelt always on ... this is all i know ... :( ..

but ask your gyn, she would be the best person to advice you ...

BTW , i think it is wonderfulthat you have the opportunity to go to India for delivery ..i am in Us and i feel so so sad that i cannot do that ...

anyway , take care,
-P

Hi Manu and congratulations to you!! I am due on December 24th and right now in Dubai.

I was planning to leave for India on 15th October but then changed my mind because i would be more than 28 weeks then. My OB said that although different airlines have different rules for pregnant ladies/travel, it's best to travel in your second trimester.

If your OB says there is no problem is traveling in October, then you can go ahead with your new plan. But since my legs have started swelling, me and my DH decided that it's best I head back home sooner.

I suggest speak with your OB about this and do accordingly. Good luck and have a safe, comfortable journey back home.

Hi Manu

So nice to hear this is your first pregnancy too. I am so happy I am going back home too.

It takes approximately 2-3 hours for my return flight to India from Dubai. MY BP is normal but I have swelling in my ankles so my husband and parents want me to go back to India soon. Hence the change of plans.

You take care and let me know how your appointment on 18th goes. Bye for now
