hello shruti,

Normally they say that while u chart u shd use a Basal Body Temperature (BBT) thermometer for accurate fertility charting. They say this bcoz,If your chart is unclear or unusual, you don' t want to wonder whether or not your thermometer is responsible for the ambiguity or unusual pattern. A fever thermometer, even a digital one, is not usually able to give you the sensitivity and precision you need for fertility charting. You need to make sure that your thermometer is a BBT one. It should say BBT, Basal Thermometer, or Fertility Thermometer on the package. You can find a BBT thermometer at most well-stocked pharmacies and drugstores.

but anyways shruti,I used a normal digital thermometer n worked out very much fine with me..

There are a few guidelines to follow when taking your temperature to make sure you get the best interpretation on your chart.

* Take your temperature just as you wake up in the morning, before doing anything else.
* Take your temperature at the same time every morning, or as close to the same time as possible. Note the time.
* Take your temperature after a solid few hours of sleep.
* Take your temperature using a special BBT thermometer.
* Enter your data on your chart or bedside notepad as soon after taking your temperature as possible.

hope I answered all ur doubts,n this info helps u lil bit..

take care n lotsa baby dust onu.

hello rose,
While charting BBT,its very essential to wake up during the same time n chart the tempearature the same time daily for a accurate cycle.(30mts here n there sumtimes, wont affect.but the closer the better..).For an accurate chart its shd be taken during the same time always..Thisz a must...

why dont u use a Ovulation prediction kit? This instrument tells u when ur going 2 ovulte..Atleast here u dont have 2 chart...

take care n lotsa baby dust on u

Hi megnah,

All the info u gave to shruti was quite good. But i have a question, what if your schedule does not allow u to wake up at the same time everyday what shud one do in that situation?? I am studying and i have my classes on some days of the week only, therefore im always unable to take my temperature at the same time everyday. What shud i do??
Pls help if u can.
