Hi all,
1.I have been getting a pain in my right groin,it is bearable but these days iam finding it difficult to fold my legs like when relaxing on the sofa&sometimes while getting into bed when you fold the leg &lift it to lie down.It is like a mild pulling sensation, gosh!
That area feels tight&firm,i think it is my baby's limb or some part.Just wanted to ask if any of you have similar feelings.
Also while walking&moving i feel like iam carrying a small boulder in my pelvis, guess the baby is growing&it is normal.
2.Also i always forget to ask my dr is it safe to sit crosslegged or cross your legs while sitting.
3.Girls in US where are u buying simple draw string leg in's from?Give me some suggestion for comfy pants,r u buying maternity only or i guess we can even try buying in the regular store but a larger size. What do you'll feel?iam going to start shopping.
Any of you have any favourite maternity wear?I prefer wearing dresses&salwars.
Hope to hear from all of you!
Love,
Manvi.

Reena replied. Hi Anu and manvi,
Thanks for your comforting words. I spoke to my doc about the cramps. She asked me if they were like prementrual cramps but i couldn't figure that out. She has told me to have some medication. Hope all goes well and I don't get it again...and about the discharge problem, she said not to worry as it must be colustrum.
fyi my height is 5'2''. manvi, I also checked about squatting when I met up with my doc. She said that it should not be done now but when the time comes, she'll let me know what all exercises I need to do.
My allergy has not got any better but I'm going to see a homeopathic doctor this weekend. My gynae has approved homeo medicines and says that I should give it a try. lets see...
Until then..bye..will write again.

Reena

Anu replied. Hi Manvi,
I was also getting the leg cramps when I fold fold my legs. One day, I sat on the sofa folding legs and when I want to get up, it got struck like sprain and I could not get up from there till 45 mins. After that I started getting these type of leg pains now and then during my sleep or getting from bed. During my last visit, I checked with Doc and she said that happens in pregnancy due to the uterus pressure on one of the nerve that is in the thigh. So, we just need to be careful. From then I avoided folding my legs while siting. I bought a rocking chair and now a days I just sit in that chair not in sofa. That is very good. You can sit straight and you have good support for back.
When you sit, you should not cross our legs. Instead, you should sit straight and keep your legs at little heiger than floor level.
When you are sleeping, sleep only on the sides and try to keep a pillow in between legs which will improove blood circulation in you and for the baby.
If you feel the pain while strecthing your legs, you just strecth inside. When we strecth we tried to strech outside right. You just have to do opposite. That is a quick remedy. Wroked for me always.
You can also use oil massage for relief.
We all have to do min 30 minutes walk.
Coming to Maternitiy clothes, Here is what I did.
I did buy some american maternity clothes and some regular clothes in large size. I didnot buy any pants as I don't want to put pressure on my belly and those pants, we cannot use later. So, I bought some gowns or full legnth dresses.
Now, I am not able to fit into my regular salwars also. Anyway, I cannot wear salwars to my office. So, I bought only few maternity clothes and more from regular store in large size so that I can alter them after pregnancy.
Hope this helps,
Anu.
Reena replied. Hi manvi,
Can understand your problems. Right!! it is tuff now to relax and fold the legs. btw, sitting cross legged should be avoided as it cud hamper with the kid's oxygen supplies.
Also, I've heard that sitting on the floor, folding legs, should also be avoided in the last couple of months.
I visited my doc yesterday and checked my weight which is gaining quite rapidly. I've already gained 17.5 pounds in 23 weeks...boo hoo..I guess this is also one factor that makes walking, sitting difficult. She's asked me to avoid potatoes, rice and soft drinks.
Have any of you got cramps in your lower back. Not pain, but cramps. I've experienced them on 2 ocassions but forgot to share with my doc yesterday. I got scared as I thot it was like being in labour. The cramp came 3-4 times and went away...
Another problem I had was that of a transparent discharge from the nipple. But this only happens in case of pressing the breasts. I forgot to share it with my doc. Does anyone face this??? Pls pls let me know.
As far as clothes are concerned, I havent worn western in some time as I'm still trying to avoid people finding it out in the office. So I've just been wearing salwar kameez and churidars...
Do reply soon...
lots of luv..Reena

Hi Reena,
I too gained 16 lbs in 22 weeks. I have a doctor appointment this wednesday. Not sure what she will say about my weight gain. This looks kind of Ok. Not very bad.
Regarding transperent discharge, I read from book which I got from doc, in that they say some kind of liquid will come from nipple during 6th month. So, it should not be a problem i think.
I have not got cramps in my lower back. But have back pain. I am not sure about the cramps. You can try to call up your doctor and check with her. I am thinking, because of the weight at the stomach our spinal cord will bend inside at the lower back.It will slightly curve inside and our stomach streches outside.
In the final trimester, it will bend more itseems. That might be the reason for cramps or pain.
Take care,
Anu.
