Name: Rose I am veryyyyyyyyy keen to have a baby but i was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. My doctor did a vaginal ultrasound on me and said that my antral follicle count is less than 10(it could be interfered with since i was on pills before).

Now i dont know what antral follicles are. Can someone pls help me and tell me whether my antral follicle count will let me concieve peacefully or is there something seriously wrong with this count???

Also im on metformin for 6 months during which we have to try and get pregnant. I am veryyyyyyyyy keen on having a baby ..but all sorts of confusions are killing me...plsssssssss someone clear my confusion..plss..

Hi Rose,

the best approach to take would be speaking to your doc and clarifying all your doubts.. if you feel your doc isn' t forthcoming enough then you need to change your doc and get someone who is supportive through this crisis and will be able to clear your doubts.

Secondly, I agree with X2.. you should google your condition. I have read on the internet itself that many women with PCOS have conceived without a problem. I am not sure of your condition though but there' s a sea of information out there on the internet, sometimes good and sometimes not so good for your frame of mind. So don' t O/D on self-sought info.

Lastly, be positive. I know it' s hard to be in a time like this but even a little bit of positivity can change things for the better.

Thats the problem. There is hardly any clear info on antral follicles on the net (i have done alot of searches)and I cannot contact my doc directly, this is the reason I thought i´ ll ask someone here.

But nevermind, thanks for all the information that you gave.

why dont you ask your doc? He/she should be able to give you the best possible advice.

abt antral follicles..google and find out...or again, ask your doctor.
