I too like to have machine cut. But now i stopped machine cut. Now I am going for full head shave with a razor. when our head is smooth we will have very good feeling. Do it an enjoy. it is more comfortable than machine cut.

While having your machine cuts please ensure that you are clean shaved (even school boys should get their sfaces cleaned) then appreciations would certainly follow.

Thank you all for such sharing your wonderful experiences. I am doing my 2nd year Mechanical Engineering. I have been having machine cuts since 6th standard. I agree with Kiran that regular machine cuts are inspired ones. I was inspired by by school mate Srihari' s machine cuts. Proud to say that now, I have inspired my friends like Aniruddha, Jaisimha, Roshan and Ganesh for their machine cuts.

Happy to note that your room mates are commenting for a normal haircut. This means that they really care for your looks and are concerned about your haircut. I am sure this concern in them would enable them to appreciate your planned machine cut. As Hema and Richa have given courage to you, please go ahead and appreciations would follow. My personal experience says that one should not waver about one' s machine cut or summer cut. This confidence manifested through firmness will soon win appreciations. Ajith, all the best.Please narrate your experience after the cut.

I whole-heartedly thank Hema, Richa, Rajesh, Ajith, Kiran and others for their valuable experiences needed for a good machine cut. As I was undegoing my cut on 4th July, I was thinking about your valuable thoughts in this forum and this had enhanced my happiness during the cut. Thanks once again.

Yes I do not go for \" Summer Machinecuts\" .I wish and my barber also provides sufficient hairs at the top for a boyish crop. Regarding your plan for \" machine Cut\" I am sure you will certainly enjoy. But, keep the instructions to the barber to a minimum. Don' t worry there are many boys and even girls who like such a haircut these days. In fact my maths and science teachers keep rubbing my \" machined area\" outside the classroom in a very affectionate way with many of my junior boys watching in appreciation. Remember many people do not appreciate by words but their gestures will certainly do. You will realize once you complete a good machinecut.

OK - I will keep the instructions to the minimum to the barber - will tell him to give a summer cut, sides and back no hair and top also short - will ask him to use manual clippers - hope it should be fine. I hope I don´ t chicken out at the last minute. I am little bit worried as 4 of us (one guy and 2 girls) go together and come back to home - even for a normal haircut they used to comment - not sure how they will react.

Yes my brother loves to have his \" machine cut\" every month. He will have short back and sides with sufficient hairs for combing his crop. During summer months of March, April and May and during exam times he usually go for \" Summer Machinecuts\" wherein he will have less hair at the top. In fact I am inspired by his regularity and confidence after the cut. Since I like to have a similar cut like my brother, I insist to go to the same saloon. Many people has watched me having my machinecut with some of them giving a wonder-struck look. But seeing my firmness and confidence along with my brothers they appreciate me for my cut.
Regarding your dilemma for a machinecut my opinion is try to find any of your friends have the machinecut. Discuss their experience and start liking the cut from the heart. Read Arun Rama, Nitin and Preeti' s experiences of this forum Then barber will not be a problem

ok, then you never got a summer machine cut - sides and back totally bald, top reduced very short ?

thanks, will plan to get a cut tomorrow or this week - only thing is I need to find a shop that would use old clippers. I would like to get summer machine cut.

I told the barber to make sure he removes all the hair on the sides and behind till the middle and make the hair really short on the top. I told him specifically to use the clippers.
I was sitting right there to see the cut )

Thanks for sharing your experiences.Though initially I was hesitant to have a machine cut, but being a boy I always wanted the same and was really inspired by Nitin and Preeeti' s experiences posted in this forum. I feel proud that many friends like all of you feel the similar way. This has helped me to enjoy my machine cut much more. I had my recent cut on 4th July.

I had my recent machine cut on 28th June. My brother Ravi accompanied me and we both had the similar cut. As I have already stated in my case back and sides are tapered gradually and very nicely and I will be left with sufficient hairs to comb my crop. Inspired by my style, Anushri twice had the similar cut in the same saloon and it was liked by all. She looks very cute with such a machine cut.

You said you went with your cousin to the saloon - what did you instruct the barber - did you say how high it should be cut at sides and back ?

Is your brother gets the usual manual clipper cut always ? i.e. sides and back no hair , top very much reduced ? why are you not getting in a beauty parlour and why a saloon ? Have anyone watched you/brother getting clippercut in the saloon ? if so, what was their reaction when they saw a girl getting manual clipper cut ?

I agree with you. Manual clippers is any day more exciting than electric clippers. Manual clippers take away all the hairs from the head - right down to the scalp. This is true especially if the barber presses down hard when running it over the head. The result will be very cute to look at on boys.
