I have a 13 month old daughter. I still have to rock atleast 30 minutes to put her to sleep. Doing this 3 times a day plus frequent night waking, I am tired of this.Some times I leave her and let her play but she never shows any interest to sleep even if she is really tired. She keeps on playing. I really dont know what to do.How do you put you baby to sleep? Do they sleep alone? Somebody plase give me some tips. Should I make her 2 naps to 1? She usually takes 2 naps in the daytime total of 2 hrs and sleeps 10 hrs at night (3-4 times wakes up for bf).

Before putting your baby to sleep at night check for these:

1. Is the baby hungry -- this cud be the cause for frequently getting up. Feed good dinner abt 3 hrs. before bed time, and BF to put baby to sleep.
Take care to feed foods that are not very gassy... You cud also try giving abt 2 tsp. of gripe water post dinner.

2. Is there something that is uncomforatble for the baby -- make the baby comfortable in comfortable clothing for sleep (depending upon the weather of course).

3. Check the bed for stuff that may be making baby uncomfortable. Thoroughly clean the bed before every nap.

4. Keep the room well ventilated.

~hj. Shivani replied. my son too gets up a t night. But i do not have to rock him for sleep. His sleeping scedule is like ,he gets up at around 6.30- 7 in the morning. he sleeps again at 9 and sleeps for 30 to 45 mints. Then he plays and sleep in the afternoon at 2 for 2 hrs. he sleeps then at night at 9 ( while feeding only) U can put him to sleep in swing also.
