Due Date Club January 2007:archie ..pls advice - preterm labour contractions

hi archie,

I am 34W3D pregnant and expected date is 25th jan, I had a preterm labour contractions before 3 days when i completed 34th week, I was admitted in the hospital for 2 days and my OB kept me on Bricanyl injections to control the contractions, now I am at home and the contractions are under control by Bricanyl 2.5 mg tablets which I have to take every 6 hours, I am on besd rest, but really worried about it and want to complete atleast 37 weeks as suggested by my doctor, as the baby will be fully develped by 37th week, please advise what precautions shall I take.

Thanks Archie, the contractions are under control now and I hope all goes well as mentioned by you. Please let me know if anything else I need to do, to prevent early labour.

Honestly, I want you to stop medicine around completion of 37 weeks but a day before that if possible have a sonogram to know AFI, placenta functionality and fetal weight. Once you complete 36 weeks you are in good shape and delivery is not regarded as preterm.

Let me know after you talk to your Dr on this suggestion.

with uterus relaxing tablets there is highly likely possibility that you will get chance to complete weeks and deliver around or beyond EDD.
