Hi all...
sorry for not thanking or posting any message about my delivery...having a real busy time with my baby boy....today that i posted a message on saradha' s behalf...i decided to write about my delivery too...
First of all...thank you everyone for the wishes...and sorry once again for being late to reply...pls dont think i was rude...
Now my birth story...
i was 37 and half weeks on March 19 when i had a regular doctor' s visit...i had been feeling less movement for a day or two so i told my gynec about it...when she monitored me on ultrasound...she found enough movement but just to make sure everything was fine except that she found that the fetal heart rate was varying a lot (120 to 160)...she said normally the variation is between 140-160....she asked me to have lots of glucose water and sweets as she said this makes the baby active...she asked me to monitor movement and to come the next day...that night my baby was actively kickboxing :)...this put my mind at rest...
the next day on March 20 at 12 p.m. i went to my gynec and told her that i had a lot of movement the previous night...still to make sure everything was fine she checked the fetal heart rate...and found that it was going much more lower than it was the previous day...it went below 100 too...she thus decided to deliver the baby immediately...as she said that there could be cord around his neck....
everything was decided and announced so soon that i was not at all prepared and was very tense... it was 1 p.m. by now and she decided that they will operate me at 1.30 p.m. My hubby started to make calls to my parents and his parents...by then i was given enema and shaved...taken to the operating room and prepared for saline and everything...
By 1.30 p.m. the pediatrician, anesthesiologist, and the other doctors arrived...i was given spinal anesthesia and soon i felt my whole trunk area go numb...and i was under conscious sedation...my eyes were covered with an eyepad but the doctors described the whole process that was going on...soon one of the doctors asked me not to move as they were taking the baby out and i would feel a pull...and after that i heard a gurgling sound and wondered...is that my baby crying?...soon...i could hear a real proper cry and the doctor removed my eyepad and turned my face towards the baby and said \" congrats its a baby boy\" and i turned emotional and cried...my hubby was asked to come in the operating room and the baby' s birth was announced to him and the baby was shown to him...later he told me that he couldnt see the baby as my incision was still open and he was shocked to see so much blood and flesh :)...finally my incision was closed and i was taken to my room...the anesthesia took around 5 to 6 hours to wear off...and slowly i started feeling the pain...but the pain was gone by the next day...i stayed in the hospital for 4 days and then came back home with my son...
now my son is 26 days old and theres a new thing for me to learn every day...he keeps me busy all day and night..
we have decided up on the name Shourya for him...
and thats the end of my blah blah...sorry if i took a lot of time but i really wanted to share every minute detail about it...
Thanks...
Take care all moms and moms-to-be...
Luv to all the babies....
VK and Shourya...
