i'm married since one and a half yrs.now would like to start a family.but would like ttc only during may as we have to shift to another flat.i'm residing in UAE now.when in India i had regular periods.since i came here the cycle has fluctuated, became normal .now again fluctuating to almost 40 days(earlier it was 27-29days).also the weather has dramatically changed(its extremely cold)now.can i account the weather changes as reason for this fluctuation since i have maintained my diet.also is it must to lose weight before conceiving?i'm overweight by 15kgs.please advise.i would highly appreciate an early response.

your weight is reason for cycles change rather than weather. Try to bring it down as much, you will be happy.

It is possible that the climate change can affect your cycle duration. I have heard that as the body metabolism changes with climate, so does the cycle length. However, this may not be the precise reason and may also depend on the stress you are undergoing at the time. Stress and body weight are sure-factors that affect your cycle lengths.

Since you still have 2-3 months before you start trying, it would be a good idea to shed those extra pounds. It is always advisable to be near the ideal BMI when you become pregnant. You can put your baby at health risks if too overweight when pregnant, so do your share and try to reduce those extra kilos in a sensible maner. By sensible I mean, don't go crash-dieting or taking weight-loss tablets as you need to have wholesome nutrition before and during ttc, you should reduce your weight by excercising, start of with 5-10 mts everyday and then increase it. Remember you cannot consider losing weight once you are pregnant,so get in shape before that.
