hi girls,

yesterday tintin vomitted twice and had fever over 39 all nite....

took her to hospital and found a sever ear infection causing fever. when i returned she started having loose motions....i counted till 15 motions and then lost count...

going to see the doc again tomorrow. she has ear infection and tummy bug both...shes on antibiotics for 7 days and pedylite...not eating anything atall...little lactose free milk also given this evening...

moral of the story.....tintin had a cold few days bak....and it just disappeared in a couple of days...and we neevr paid much attention...but infact it had reached her ear canal and hence this infection....so guys if the babies has milk cold etc...plz make sure that the ears r safe...

just wanted to warn u guys....its midnite and tintin just slept....so thought i'd let u guys know....inm a total mess....havnt had any sleep in over 8 days...hubby travelling..thats why...and tintin used to have ear aches at nite and i used to think its teething trouble...poor baby

i better sleep now...take care girls...and keep the babies safe...bad season

sad to hear about tintin's situation and especially when your hubby is nor around. since she is vomitting & pooping, make sure you give her enough liquid. sometime they don't take pedialite that well so I will suggest to give her 2oz pedialyte every 1-2 hr. even though she ask for more just try not to stuff her too quickly. I went through almost similar situation and I use to give her very liquidy moong dal or moong dal kchidi. it use to help alot. hope she feels better soon. poonam replied. thanks shivani for the reply.....ur rite...her she has 2 different problems...but she doesnt have a cold atall...just she was pulling at her ears and crying inconsolably with fever over 39 and thats when i took her to the doc...he said the ear problem has to be taken care of ASAP...coz her fever was not going away even with medication....thats why we agreed to give her antibiotics....and after 3 doses shes fine now...as in no fever...her loose motions started after her meds and we hav been indoors since my hubby went to ind and i dont recall giving tintin anything inappropricate....she may have eaten something off the floor or may be its just the meds....god knows...

good thing is she has no fever now....and despite her loosies shes happily drinking pedylite in enuf quantities...my fingers r crossed....thanks again

I really salute to u as u r managing alone without hubby. Thogh my hubby does not do much in this case i need his presence. Anyways , Tintin is fine so nothing to worry. Most of the time when the baby is having cold and crying doc. say the baby has ear infection. Actually its (90%) inflammation and not infection. generally u do not to give any antibiotics for first two days . In Tintin case it seems she has eaten something outside food and has got dysentry. But her cold and diarroea has no relation. Both r diff.
