Baby Sitters and Creches:Daycare Blues

Name: Worried Mom

We have just started sending our 10 month old baby to the daycare two days a week. His first week has been rough, crying, not taking his naps and not taking food properly. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing by sending him...if its early for him to start..Any advice from moms who send their babies to daycare...how long does it usually take for the babies to adjust?

Hi! I can understand your concern. My daughter is three years old and she has been going to a day care since she was eight months old. I was really worried about sending her to a day care and I am one of those people who find it hard to trust anyone, no matter how good they may appear. What I did was, I left a maid in the day care along with my baby. Having a maid there gave me a lot of satisfaction since I knew they would take good care of my child in the presence of the maid. The maid would help too, of course. It is also better than leaving the child at home alone with the maid, since you never know how she may behave in your absence. So, this was a good solution. Now, my girl is three and can express herself well. I wish all the best for your baby.
