Sleeping:What food makes babies sleep better?

My son is one year old and gets up once in the night at 1.00 or 1.30 am and then is wide awake by five am everyday. It gets very tiring for me. Any suggestions about what his dinner feed shpould be to make him sleep deeper and more? Right now he has about one cup khichdi with 4 ounces formula.

There is no particular food that will make your kid sleep better except for some warm milk which doesnt have a significant effect. Try this.. make your child play a lot. Give him a lot of physical exercise in the evening. Dont let him sleep after 5:00pm. Try getting him involved in interesting physical games. Give him a wash and feed him good quantity of dal&rice or kitchdi at 8:00pm. Give him warm milk at 9:00pm. At 9:30pm take him to his bedroom with dim lights and encourage him to do whatever he wants but within the bed. Hum some good songs or narrate stories. This will make his bedtime happier and less stressful for both of you. Try and let me know.

at one year of age, your child should be able to eat mostly what you can, minus hard, chewy, spicy things. also at age of 1, he should be on whole milk, NOT formula. give him full 8oz bottle of luke warm milk half hour prior to his bedtime. when he awake in morning from bedtime sleep, feed him breakfast with an 8oz bottle again. for lunch feed him lunch, and 4oz bottle. lay for nap. after nap give him a snack (fruits) then for supper feed him supper with juice. then at bedtime do the 8oz bottle of milk. This should work. May take a couple weeks to get him in routine. But try it!

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
