My son is 2 months old.Now a days he is vomitting a lot.Infact he is vomiting whole milk.Am breast feeding him no formula milk.When i take him to burp he is vomitting the whole its not spitting out.Coz after that i have to clean the floor thats why he is hungry always and crying like anything.Even he is getting surprised to see that he is vomitting coz after that he is quiet for sometime.He has gas problem i used to give him colic aid frequently .Now am scared of giving it.Am feeling it may be the side effect of that i donno for sure.But doc told me to give it.I that bottle its written should be given 15 mts before feed .most of the time i used to feed him before that or very late.I donno wheather its because of that.Please hetal help me out to solve this problem.He is only 6kg and 62 cm is this normal at this age?
One more thing when he passed urine once it was dark yello but not to be seen in diaper as yellow.I thought it may be because he got dehydrated its too hot here nearly 36 degree!!!!.

I think the milk which he drunk was not got digested and so he might be vomiting and it would be better you try to digest the milk and then your problem will be resolved also i hope you solved your problem as of now. Aisha replied. can i suggest someting else, since my son used to be like this too...1)Elevate your son' s head or raise his (head side)crib or bassinet, it will make a difference
2)after you feed him keep him in straight(standing position), he should not be in laying position.
3)after feeding, always purp him or purb him twice (i used to do it with my son)..
i know it' s a lot of work specially at night, holding on ur chest until he feel asleep but it' s WORTH it. good luck ... Hetal replied. colic aid is safe to give, as recommended by your dr and not as on pack..,,
but try missing the dose and see if your baby it needs further or is ok with it. also,dont gripe water and this medicine together,,give today gripe water and tommorrow colic aid,,so that you know wats working better..also try eliminating the use of both the medicine like missing a dosage and so on..
you know what i m trying to say..soon your baby will be 3months,,and i expect him to recover soon atleast by end of 3months if not at 3rd month.
also try these tips about burping,,will help somewat.

The manufacturer of colicaid is vitabiotics ,Medicines exact name is colicaid.his doc toldto give 2 drops 15 mts before feed three times a day during heavy gassy times.He is spitting 8-10 times,some times in the form of curd and some times creamy.Am taking diarly products from day 1 as i've heard they will increase milk production.As you said i will stop using it for 2 days and see the results.What you observed was true hetal my baby is gassy thats the reason why he is vomitting.Even if i try to burp him after feed some amount will be always there i donno how to get rid of this.As you adviced i will keep a check on my diet and will see how things are going.
Am from india and here mylicon is not available i asked in some medical stores they seem not even eard of such medicine.
I will try gripe water.I asked doc regarding water he told never to give coz that will increase the sodium contenet in babies.In your previous post to some one i've read how to give gripe water to babies,i will introduce it to him accordingly.
Am highly relived to hear that 6 kg is ideal weight for my baby .

Sweety Hetal replied. one of the possibilities that your dr gave colic aid is because he sees the severity of colic and it has affected your baby weight. generaly a normal colic or reflux is expected or is no worries upto babies 3months and younger. however, if the baby seems to be spitting more than he is absorbing than there is a possibbility that he is getting severe...
now normal healthy babies at 2months should be able to gain 3.7 Kg - 6.0 Kg & by height 51.0 cm - 61.0 cm,,
now that your baby is in this range, i am not worried !
the only thing that worries me here, how severe was the colic of your baby that he had to be gven a colic aid. what is the name of the medicine and manufacturer name ?
how long this spitting got worst ? and how many times you are eating gassy foods or ne foods that cause discomfort to your baby.
sweety, watch you diet, eat the simpliest food you can,,reduce the dairy product check on your baby reactions,,even 2% less vomitting, i will be happy to see that change.
also watch for ne hot foods like methi and jaggery..as such these are milk boosters, but many moms, includin myself have complained about baby being more fussy with gas or colic with these foods..check on that.
m not worried until this spitting doesnt go in vomitting that makes your baby cry.
please note that babies digestion system is not mature until 3months of their age. so considering that, even if i asssume that your baby is very sensitive to refluxes, i would like you to watch him until 3months.
about the colic aid,let me know the manufacturers name and medicine exact name along with recommended dosage by your dr and not by the one mentioned on the pack of the medicine...
lets check on that.
other than this, have you tried givng your baby gripe water. please try that,before giving ne allopathy medcine that is related to gastric troubles..most of the babies, have shown signs of being Better with gripe water dosage..so give that a very lil amt as recoomended by the manufacturer,,alwasy give some 50% less than recommended dosage..for being on good side of it.
about yellow urine, you have to drink alot of water and let your milk give him enough water supply thru you.
babies at 2months are not adviced to give water, it doesnt matter that if you can breastfeed him a couple times more,,or i have heard in india, people givin couple drops of water thru spoon or ne kind of drop dispenser, so that your baby remains hydrated. ask your dr if its ok for you to give pedialyte(in US), a couple drops a day,,,i think he should be ok with that.
so work on this, and watch your baby weight,,as of now he looks healthy baby to me, who is just sensitive to normal spitting/colic probs..
also note,that in gas problems, giving colic aid is no good ! give mylicon if you are in US ! why colic aid.
