hi everyone,
i have an eight month old son and have been a silent reader on this site as i cannot access the internet on a regular basis well i need soe advice from anyone who is setteld in singapore, my hubby has been transferred there and we will sonn be moving to singapore. if anyone can please ans a few of my queries i wld really appreciate it
1) can u suggest any good pediatricians in singapore?
2) what are the house rents like ans which are the good localites where we can get houses at a reasonable rate, also do these houses come furnished or do we have to furnish them ourselves and if so how expensive is it to do so?
3) what about day care is it expensive?
4) also what all shld i bring from here interms of baby food etc is it very exp or reasonably priced as we will be in a hotel for a couple of weeks till we find a house so shall i carry everything from here or buy when i get there?

here are your answers:
1 there are a lot of good paedetricians in singapore. it depends on how much you want to spend since private doctors cost more than govt ones. govt ones are good too. KK hosital is great. for private doctors, ther is Dr Sivasankaran at Kinder clinic in Paragon shopping center
2. there is a huge range of houses available. govt housing called HDB flats are cheaper than private condominiums. but private ones will have facilities like pools, tennis courts etc. where you want to stay will depend on where you hubby will work. houses come empty and furnished. it will not be very expensive to furnish them. minimum all houses will contain a fridge washing machine
3. day care can be expensive.
4. baby food can be expensive here, so get some if you can. once you start earning in dollars then it will not seem so expensive :)
