Dear All,

I' ve been going through all the contents of this forum but never got introduced myself. Neverthless, better late than never. This is Deepa from Chennai. All the contents have proved to be of great use to me. I also have a good news to share. I was blessed with a baby boy on 17th August at 9:15 AM. My EDD was 29th Aug. He was almost 12 days ahead. He weighed only 2.66 Kgs at birth and has not improved since.

Another matter of concern is that I do not have enough breast milk to feed him. That' s bothering all of us. I have tried all known methods like garlic, lots of milk etc but of no use. Pls help me.

I read this one in yesterday.
According to a research, if the nursing mother watches some funny video/reads some jokes for jovial mood and after that if she tries to feed the baby, the situation is much better.

Another my grandma way is to have Jeera and Jaggery.

Tak2 2 spoons of pure ghee, heat it well, put Jeera in it and let it get little brown, then put some jaggery. Make a paste out of it and have it everyday twice.

Hi Deepa,

First of all, hearty congratulations on the good news.
Regarding your son being born 12 days ahead, there is no need to worry, since he will pick up soon. My son was born a full 21 days ahead of his due date. But he is doing fine now.
With regard to less milk, you can try these sure fire remedies. They helped me out a lot in my initial days. Khus khus and Methi. (Methi either the seeds or the leaves). Try to make payasam out of khus khus and have it.
And try to be in a very good mood. Dont worry about the fact that milk flow is less. It will improve quite soon.
And do keep us updated.
Take care
