Hope everybody is doing well. I have an appointment next saturday for my mid trimester scan and doppler (as per my doc's advice). I'm wondering if I should go for the 3D scan too. I very much want to see my baby on 3D, since it will be more clear, but was told by the lab person that they also give a CD of the 3D scan. Am confused if going for a CD is useful/necessary. Would we be looking at the CD often? Am not sure about it. So would like to know what you girls did regarding that. Is it really nice/important to have a CD of the 3D scan?

Varying reports

I am not sure how it is regulated in India. I read a report recently which said that the US based three-D scans are not throughly regulated. So they use stronger waves for the images. I wish I remember the source.

I really believe that one should avoid scans that are not needed for medical reasons. Just my personal opinion since I have had two kids.

Hope you will make the best decision for yourself.

hi priya,
its not necessary to go for a cd if u think so. but its a nice memory tyo see and show ur kid when she will be out. even i had asked for a cd and will be getting it after 2 weeks. and if there r any probs then it might help too. but they give an edited version of the scan on the cd. so that u dont come to know of the sex. so it all depends on what u think.

hi priya
its sad that i couldnt make out the babys sex. because she didint show me the scan at first. the dr said that she had seen the baby and knew wether it was a boy or a girl. but she couldnt tell me. she showed me the scan after sometime. i did it sagar apollo itself.

edited version in the CD?? thats bad!! atleast they shud let us to get to know the sex of the baby by ourselves!! anyway, cud u make out the sex of the baby on 3D scan!?!?
so where did u get the scan done? am getting it done in a lab in Jayanagar.
