well i dont know whether u all have ever faced this or not but i cant stand the smell of the folic acid tablets.. its makes me feel sick the moment i try having them. i have tried lots of time but i think for past few days am becoming a bit too much when it comes to smell.. i am getting all kinda a smells that makes me feel worse.

so frnds can u give me any substitutes for folic acid. i will try to have foods with have more folic acid rather than having those tablets.

I am from sept board. Yes, there are several sources of folate.

But it is most crucial for the first three months (particularly first two) as the brain stem is developing. I am sure you can derive all your requirement from dietary sources. But the supplement is suggested as a form of insurance to cover any of the deficits from food.

Are you taking the folate as part of a prenatal vitamin pill or as a separate supplement? I wonder if you can ask the doc to change the prescription. One thing which helps some people is to swallow the pill with orange juice instead of plain water. Do you think it will help you somewhat?
