Due Date Club March 2009:Weight Gain Anyone?
2008-08-27
Name: Sunshine

Hi,
Has anyone started showing or gaining weight? I am slightly on the plump side. I seem to have put on 1/2 to 1kg in the past 11 weeks.
Nausea/vomiting & tiredness continues...
:) Sunshine

Hello hello... I am in the 24th week. Nov. will mark the end of the 6th month.. Am somehow more comfortable talking in terms of months.. Anyway.. I am 5ft and 6 inches tall, and started at 67 kgs. I now weigh 75kgs. As far as i know, I am pretty careful about what I eat. My diet goes likes this:
Morning (7am): A handful of dry fruits and a mug-full of warm water
Morning (730am): Coffee.. filter kaapi, actually or tea sometimes
Go for Yoga from 8 to 9 am, 3 days a week. I walk down to the class. Find it extremely refreshing.
Morning (9:30am): A bowl of oats porridge in milk and water, and 2 -3 slices of brown bread with butter/jam/ herbs seasoning
Start preps for my office dabba, while is quite a lot actually. You' ll soon see. :D

My dabba comprises:
12:30pm: 1 bottle of soup- doodhi, tomato, carot, beans (in various combos) or palak soup
For lunch @1-1:15pm: 2-3 chapatis & some bhaaji, else rice and dal or sambar/ rajma/ whatever

5-6pm or while returning home by train : 2-3 fruits: Sweet lime, orange, apple, pomegranates- whatever is available actually

In office I have stacked up on dry fruits like anjeer, kaju, almond- for a mid-meal snack (4-4:30pm)

So my biggest problem is you know what?? ...Carrying all this food to office daily!

7 pm: Coffee or tea- 1 mug with very little munchies (this is not a must, but sometimes I like something to go with my beverage)

9-9:30 pm: Dinner is 2 rotis, lots of subji and some dal or rice. Sometimes dosa and very rarely we order frm ouside.

10:30-11pm: My favourite- hot milk with some chocolate flavour milk product. I look forwrd to this from evening itself!

I harly deviate from this food plan.. like may be once in 2 weeks the husbnd and me go out for dinner, and then too I don' t behave like I haven' t seen food in ages.
Now coming to the point of weight gain:
So,I have gained 8 kgs in 6 months... quite lot i think. But with such a diet, I guess it cannot be helped. I am doing everthing right, as far as I can help it. I have a bigger frame and structure, so does my mom- it' s called genetics! So i have stopped bothering (too much) about the weight gain, and concentrate more on getting the right kind of food. I guess will have to work out a weight management programme once my baby is out and am done with the feeding. Will have to take it as it comes. Any views/ suggestions anyone?

Hi Sunshine,

So far, have just added a couple of pounds. For my nausea, I got a huge relief from eating salted crackers ( specially in the mornings) and sucking on raw ginger.Tiredness continues :(

Yes, it is getting incredibly difficult to stretch and I feel like my stomach has kinda become hard. Its starting to show and its very difficult to hold back my stomach!

I had my NT scan on Saturday, i have posted the details. When is ur NT scan due?

Take care and keep in touch!

Hi Sunshine,

I hope you feel better very soon! I think you should follow your docs advise avoid medication and take good rest, however don´ t think quitting job is the best option. You may ask your employer for work from home option for a couple of weeks or take a short-term diability leave if both don´ t work out- you can always go for leave without pay. Take rest, get well and then resume work.

Things are ok at my end..every day has a new surprize.. these days I am having terible upper back aches, it´ s get difficult to sit at a stretch. The snack ideas were super, i am trying to incorporate as many in my diet.. thanks!

Let me know how your work situation & health keeps..

Hi Bhav,

Not much improvement. I took a couple of days off from work. Doc doesn´ t want to put me on medication as she feels it will subside on its own & its best to take minimal medication. She is asking me to take more rest, which I am not able to find time for. She is asking me to consider quitting my job as I will need all the additional rest due to the fibroid. I am not too keen on quitting at the moment. Any suggestions?

How are things at your end? How are you feeling?

Never take Relicord - pathetic customer care
Hi All,

According to my experience with Relicord, I will never recommend any one to go with Relicord. It' s being 1.5 years now, I am paying the EMIs, but I had enough trouble with them.

Lifecell is the best
yes Life cell is the best, when ourbabygirl was due in Feb 2011 we shortlisted Lifecell after meeting Cyrobanks, Relicord, Babycord etc. Cyrobanks are thugs they promise you the moon and also there is no indian hand in this company so we can' t rely on them at all. Relicord is good but the offers have so much marketing gimmicks. Other players lacks either the technical inf... - CK [View Message]

Avoid Beena Jaysingh. We' ve got seriously burnt up by Dr. Beena Jaysingh of Apollo Bellandur. Dr Beena is highly unprofessional and always behind money. She is incompetent and doesn' t understand patient problems and needs. Whenever we went to her for my wife' s pregnancy she wrote all the available tests without even asking and thinking.
