I'm Viji.... 27+ weeks .... 2nd time pregnant... this time with twins... 1st one normal .. 4 yr old daughter (Niharika)

Just had my interval growth scan today ... along with fetal echo ...

According to the scans .... the position of the first child (one nearer to to cervix) is head down ... the other one is breech.. Sugar levels so far so good .. and fetal echo came out to be good as well..

My question is that considering the position of both babies ... will you be able to give me the possible chances of normal delivery this time ... and also what other this may come into consideration while taking a decision of mode of delivery in a twin pregnancy.

I would love to go in for a VB but the last thing i want is that the first one comes out vaginally and the 2nd thro c section.... pls do enlighten me under what circumstances that happens...

I hope you dont mind me calling you Dr. Archie bcos you seem to be quite knowledgeble about most issues and your answers are like bang to the point .... so i thought it would be like paying you a compliment.

Let me be honest to you, there is no rush on talking on delivery options today. You are in 28th week and there is plenty of time for baby to turn head down. If second one turns head down in due course you should have no trouble in going for vaginal birth.
Although, I love US prenatal care, at time there is lot of rush for deciding on delivery modes. I would see if your Dr. is willing to let you go in or beyond 37 weeks. If so then you should not even think of discussing delivery option before completing 36 weeks, that time too you will first have a sonogram to see fetal positions, weight and of course placenta function, AFI measurments, in short called BPP sonogram.

Since Niharika is vaginally born you should be positive about pregnancy progress and unless something comes we would not talk about delivery today:-)
