I had a doubt - I have missed my period (already 10 days now) - pregnancy test shows negative even after 3-4 days from my due date - with a prior condition I have been warned there could be chances of Ectopic pregnancy - surely there is no way I can know when this occurs - but I want to know if someone does have ectopic condition would the pregnancy test show positive or negative? - basically I am concerned that should I see a Gyno or not worry cos pregnancy test was negative anyway? - I am not TTC until Dec-Jan! Pls advise mahita replied. when i had conceived second time, urine test at home was negative, blood test at gynec hospital was low HCG.its like missed pregnancy. it had come & gone its own way.
doctor said i am late to hospital (it was 8th day after my actual period date). in such cases, i shud see gynec just next day if i miss my period, if periods are regular.
in right time they can support pregnancy with medicines.

My SIL had an ectopic pregnancy a few years ago. She got a +HPT, but when she went to her dr to confirm, the blood test showed very low HCG levels in comparison to her last period date (which suggested she was about 8 weeks pregnant). She was told there was probably something wrong with the baby, so she talked with her dr about termination (she did not plan this pregnancy and did not want another child, she has two daughters already). So she went home but her tube ruptured a couple of hours later. She was unable to get to the phone to call for help, luckily my father in law called around to see her and found her, took her to hospital for emergency surgery. She was fine but lost the tube. She was told that another hour and she would have bled to death.

Not that I want to scare you, that was just a story to share!

If your fertilised egg implanted late, your hcg levels would not be enough to show a + HPT even at 3 or 4 days late. Wait a few more days and test again. And don't worry! Ectopics are not all that common.
