We just decided that we will have a baby.I read somewhere that while you plan to have a baby,you have to start taking folic acid suppliments..If yes,could anyone tell me,where will I get them,and do I need any doctors prescription to take them and how do I take them?And is it really necessary to consult any doctor before we try for a baby?

But do consult you doc as it is not necessary but safer that way.

hi alka,
consult a good gynaec for a prenatal visit.you need not take a folic acid supplement if you are taking a prenatal vitamin as it has all the required quantities in the needed amounts .MCBM 69 is a good prenatal vitamin. take 1 tab daily starting 6 months before TTC.
