Sulfur Content food for Glowing skin and Long hair

Sulfur is a mineral that is present in all cells, especially in cartilage and keratin of skin and hair.Sulfur is important for a healthy hair, skin and nails, it also helps maintain oxygen balance for proper brain function.

As part of four amino acids, sulfur is readily available in protein foods-meats, fish, poultry, eggs, milk, and legumes are all good sources. Egg yolks are one of the better sources of sulfur. Other foods that contain this somewhat smelly mineral are onions, garlic, cabbage, brussels sprouts, and turnips. Nuts have some, as do kale, lettuce, kelp and other seaweed, and raspberries. Complete vegetarians (those who eat no eggs or milk) and people on low-protein diets may not get sufficient amounts of sulfur the resulting sulfur deficiency is difficult to differentiate clinically from protein deficiency

Food Sources :
Garlic, onions, cabbage, cauliflower, legumes, asparagus, dried beans, nuts, chives, fish, eggs. Oyster have fair content of cholesterol but contain high density lipoprotein, thus prevents platelets stickiness and clumping.

Sulfur Deficiency

Signs of a sulfur deficiency include dry skin, and brittle hair and nails. Other signs include sore joints and muscles, diabetes, headaches, allergies, and fatigue. Whether or not we get enough sulfur through our diet is a subject of debate. It is not manufactured by the body and it thus must be absorbed through plants that are grown in sulfur-rich soil and the animals that eat the plants. Some experts believe that pesticides and fertilisers deplete the soil of sulfur. Processed foods are also stripped of much of their natural sulfur. However, sulfur deficiency has only been documented in people whose sole source of food was grown in soil that has been depleted of sulfur. It is of little concern to the average person.

There are no known toxic effects of sulphur. So u can take a lot.

Subject:  first tonsure experience

I was a bit nervous but still was full of anticipation before my first tonsure. I had midback hair. Just two weeks into marriage, I was naturally nervous a bit. But having first seen my m-i-l and s-i-ls go bald joyously, I also gave my head to the barber with joy. Those days there were no female barbers and I do not give it a damn whether the barber is male or female. He is just doing his job. And when he first touched his razor on the crown of my head scraping away towards the front, I felt a strange tingling sensation. Then on it was pure joy.
Even the two other gundus I had were also great. I am looking forward to my next gundu sometime in 2011.

Before tonsure, comb your hair neatly and tie them with a ribbon or braid them neatly. Just relax and happily give your head to the barber - male or female. Try to enjoy each stroke of the razor with a smile. When you feel your nice bald head it will be a great experience. When you look in the mirror you will not recognise yourself. Do not panic. Laugh at yourself and when others laugh at you laugh with them, running your palm on your bald head stylishly. And you will enjoy the tonsure.

Dear Anitha, Good to hear that your marriage is fixed on 17th June, about 6 months from now. After your tonsure on 28th this month you will have about 3 to 4 inches of hair. Either you can leave it as it is or if your m-i-l agrees cut it to a nice boycut before marriage. I hope you will enjoy the mottai on 28th. I strongly advise you to go around bald without covering (of course, winter is here and you may have to cover during early mornings). That will give you a lot of courage and a fine satisfaction of fulfilling the vow to its fullest.
As for my experience, see my post ´ Gundu to get a husband´ dated ´ 2009-06-02´ within the post ´ Daughter´s mottai´ by kamala p dated ´ 2009-05-30´ .

When is your marriage fixed? Has your would be in-laws agreed for your head shave? They would have agreed to take you as their d-i-l after seeing you with your hair (how long is it?). If the marriage is about 6 months from now, you would have about 3 to 4 inches of hair at the time of marriage. Are they agreeable for that? Doubtful I think. A more sensible thing would be to shave your head a couple of months after your marriage. But if your marriage is fixed about 2 years from now, then you can go ahead and get tonsured now.
Anyway do not worry about getting a tonsure. It is one of the nicest experiences one can have. The feeling will be extremely good. The look will be different and with luck it looks good on many people. You may also look good if you do not have bumps on your scalp. Do not worry about others comments much. Enjoy the tonsure and enjoy going around bald.
I got tonsured soon after marriage and I enjoyed it. You can also enjoy it.

Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
