Hi Radhika,

U were asking about some tips for ur India trip. The first and foremost is water, just give bottled water to anu, Aquafina is a good brand.
Avoid giving her food from hotel or outside as much as possible ( it is very difficult to do so in India)
Take sunblocks if u are going in the summer season and also mosquito repellants.
I think u shld be knowing about malaria vaccine
which has to be given before u start from here, ur doc wld tell u about it.
These r the main things to keep in mind.If i remember about something else important i will write on board.
take care,
love to anu,
sumana

Thx sumana for the tips.
Ques i have
1) how do kids sleep in flight..am sure the seat is no good..did u have a stroller or is an old infant car seat better?
2) What medicines beside tylenol can help..a bit tensed of whether she can adjust (if God forbid does get cold/fever) with medicines given by docs there, though should be same..just have to watch if we have to since it will be first trial..
3) Do kids really sit for so long/run around in plane..just long flight i think plus time changes.
Once there i am fine..since her grandma has set everything for her:)
hoping she gets used to the weather/journey and timings.
we get tired after a long journey so can imagine little ones.
Anu loves routine, hates anything unexpected..so hoping will be fine there and when we come back get used to the quietness here too..and doesn't forget her day care routine either..going to be a run run trip since all want to see anu..trying to make it best comfortable as possible for her.
Thx for the tips...hope u had a great weekend too.
Radhika

Hi Radhika,

About kids sleeping in the flight, they wld give u bassinet.Even if u take a stroller u wont be allowed to take it in with u, u have to leave it with the airhostess while boarding the plane. But do take stroller for use in india.
I dont think u shld worry about that part.
About medicines, I took all his medicines from here. But once he got viral infection and due to that he had temp, mortrin didnt work for him , so took him to a homeopathy doc there and he was ok with those medicines too.

In planes it wld be a good idea to let them run around and play. They wld surely not like to sit for that long.Try to follow the same timings in flight too, for food , sleep etc.If u r boarding a eve flight ,let Anu play and have her food, then at 8.30 or 9.00p.m (her usual sleeping time)u can make her sleep, so that they sleep for 8hrs and wont disturb u, even both of u can get some shut eye.
When we boarded our flight from here,we tried to put Kaustubh to sleep right after take off(it was 6 in the eve)and he slept too.But within 2 hrs he got up and he was so cranky, he wldnt eat nor go back to sleep again. So our trip till chennai airport was miserable, coz he wldnt eat and was crying. He just survived on water.
But on my return flight,I tried following his routine timings, and guess what,he did gr8.I didnt have any problem with him eating or sleeping.
So dont change any of Anu's routine and she wld do gr8.Dont worry about that.
Take some of her favourite foods for the flight, her toys , books and maybe even her fav doll, and most importantly let her play on the flight, she will make many friends .
sorry for such a long note.
But Hope this helps
Take care
