Hi, I could not hear my babys beat at that time either. My midwife had me get on my arms and knees and shake my bottom and the baby moved down and right after I did that I heard the beat. Hope this is not to late.

Dear leya,
Your Dr. should have heard heartbeat. But I know many girls had difficulty hearing heart beats in 11th week or around that, your's is not too far from them. This is mainly because the fetus us tiny and finding it exactly at times can be difficult, it needs precision of OB.
In such events your OB should have offered you an abdominal or transvaginal ultrasound to clear the picture. In case you have another option I think you may go for another Dr. who would sway your concerns right at the time of your visit and not leaving you in anxiety until further visit.
