Hi guys,

Sasmeta is not using any pacifier but she puts her thumb in her mouth while she is sleeping.I donot know how to get rid of that habbit.Any tips to stop her doing that?.

hi Kalyani,
my daughter who is 5 now used to suck her thumb till she was 2 yrs old.then what i did is gave her a pacifier instead.she took to it and in 6 months or so we said good bye to the pacifier.we (me and my daughter) sat down and had a talk. i told her that we will now get rid of the pacifier now that she is bigger.she said "FINE".i told her that she can herself put it some place and not take it unless she really needs it.believe me she used to refer to it has "my binky".but she never took it out.thank God.
Appu uses pacifier now.i guess it is fine.it really helps them to rest well.
so for now do not worry and a lil later u can try something.

Its ok..

Think its ok kalyani till 2 yrs or so..later on maybe they will have better things to play their fingers with.
Remember my grandma telling my neighbour to use karela juice :) sounds mean but it did work for her..but i would wait..maybe it will eventually go.

hi ritu,

Even Kaustubh uses pacifier, but only when he wants to sleep.I dont give it anyother time.Everybody back in India wanted me to get rid of it, but not sure how to do it.So for now he is using it and will be using it till i find any alternative.

Hi ..

Hi ritu..
Not sure what age its appropriate or not..anu did not like any pacifier after the 2nd month not latex or other shapes or textures..but i have seen kids in her day care having them so think are ok..
Haircut info..thx..have few places here, since small town, we have got her ears peirced and hair cuts done at JC Penny..seems quite nice people,quiet in the mornings for haircuts. and is 10$ each for both of us.
Thx for the tip though..and don't worry..about the pacifier..think they will get fed up with it one day..
