thanks a lot for your support guys.. its really unexpected..
well i have done the HPT just now.. i used the clearblue digital one and it showed \";Pregnant\";.
Gosh i dont know what to say.. Both me and my husband is extremely happy to see the result. i am going to the doc next weel for further tests if reqd. I also had a word with the chemist regarding the medicine and even she told me to take this medicine as the pain is quite there.

In UK its takes hell lot of a time archie for a blood test or any test to be done.. they didnt do a preg test on my prev samples as i have this water infection. however they have asked me to go back next week for another sample. meanwhile the HPT confirmed that am pregnant.
Thanks a lot for the support. will keep u both posted abt my developments.

comments

abdominal cramsp, water stool and loose motion are side effects of amoxicillin and would happen even if you were not pregnant. I dont' suspect that to affect pregnancy though.

if you want discontinue medicines and see a good OB. I didn't find it appropriate what your previous Dr. did with urine. They took long to know if you are pregnant and don't know how severe your infection is. please get to good OB and follow his/her advise.

by the way I knew you were pregnant but I did not appreciate your attitude of waiting for urine test and avoid hpt. I know the feelings after negative hpt but still you need to be there to face situation when you can handle. you should be bold hereafter.

Hi Archie & Curious,
I went to my doc today and well she told me everything is okay as of now and my next appoinment with the mid wife is 18th of september. we dont have a OB-GYN concept unless u have some major problem over here in UK. its always ur GP first and for the pregnancy the mid wife who is specially trained for pregnancy n child birth. if there is any prb she then regers to gynec.. Today the doc said not to continue with amoxicillin since i had that severe cramp. she told me to have loads of fresh juice n water unless i face some problems

Yes Archie i know i sud have done the HPT earlier only but my periods got delayed earlier as well and seeing a -ve was not a very nice feeling for us. plus i never knew there will be a complete mess abt my last urine sample and it will take me so long to get the results.
but yes i will try to be bold from now onwards and will try to face the situation as it comes.

Don't worry, you will be in safe hands now. They will advise you what to do next.

Sorry, I am not the right person to guide you on this query ...whether you should continue the medicine or not - you must ask your doctor about it. I am sorry as I am of no help here.

However, regarding your stomach upset problem, you can do a few things- like having light meals( khichdi etc), drink lots of fluid like water & fresh juices. Avoid spicy and oily food for the next 3-4 days. Eat only home-cooked meal...don't eat out for 3-4 days. And I repeat - be very careful about what you eat and drink at this stage.

Hope you find a private doctor soon. In the meanwhile, I think you can contact someone else in your hospital -I am sure, there will be some nurses etc. available even on the weekends to answer your call.

Hi Curious an update for u.

Hi Archie,
after having amoxicillin i started having diarrhea ie loose motion and my stoole was absolutely watery and severe stomach pain, so i contacted the emergency clinic and the emergency doc told me to stop having it and go back to my clinic for further investigation. hope the medicine has not done much damage to me and most importantly my child..
am worried now.. gosh dont want anything wrong happening now :(

Based on what I know, I don't think that an infection can interfere with the result.

The postive result is because of hCG hormone produced in your body to sustain newly implanted embryo.

As far as I know, there are some fertility medications with hCG like Novarel, Profasi etc and some very very rare medical conditions like uterine cancer (sorry to mention this) can produce hCG in blood and thus show a false positive result on HPTs. I have heard some women get an hCG shot as a fertility treatment - that can also cause a false positive result on an HPT. But a urine infection can not produce hCG in your body.

So, just chill and relax - no negative thoughts at this time. Celebrate this moment with your husband :-) and try to fix an appointment with your gynec asap.

If there is too much delay in contacting your doctor, or getting the blood/urine tests done - is it possible for you to approach a private lab to get a pregnancy test done? I know it can be a little expensive- but you might check it out...just a suggestion.

Anyways...have fun...and just be cool.

as u know due to the infecion am having amoxicillin 250 mg.. since mrng i have got a stomach upset problem. i think mite be becoz of the medicine.do u think the stomach upset is a bad thing now for me? i will get in touch with the doc on mon mrng..but till then what do u think i sud be doing stop having it??or sud i continue?

See I had told you...my gut feeling was telling me that you are pregnant. I am extremely happy for you.

Infact I appreciate and salute your patience....you waited for so many days to do an HPT...if I were in your place, I couldn't have waited so long :-)) !!!

Anyways...congrats once again to both of you.

Now be very careful about what you eat and drink. No stress for the next 9 months. Enjoy every moment of pregnancy. You will soon be a Mommy :-) . It feels great na....

Thanks a lott curious for all the support and all ur suggestions for the past 2-3 days.. i never knew whom to ask what to do but u have listened and suggested me as a dear frnd.. Thanks a lot frnd..i really appreciate that:)

I am still quite shocked actually. still cant believe myself.. after all these months of trying when i was almost giving up seeing the positive made me feel like am in heaven. i know its too early to get so excited and sud wait for the doc for the final confirmation .. still as of now am flying with excitement and happiness.

just one more small querry. i wanted to know do u think this urine infection that i have got mite have a effect on the results? means is it possible to have a false +ve due to the infection? or i dont need to worry at all.
