Hair Care:Daughter's hair

My Friends,

I have a little girl going to start school (Kindergarten) in August.

She is turning 5 years old next month.

I have only trimmed up her hair, but never cut it. It's super long and has a nice body wave to it.

Most of times, I keep it braided in two plaits, but, I have been getting alot of advice to cut it off into a shorter, manageable style for the school year.

I'm not sure what to do. Nowadays, washing is becoming a struggle. She loves her hair and so do I; but, she doesn't like to sit still for me to do all the work on it like detangling and such.

This may just be a phase, I don't know.

I would love some advice from those for or against cutting it; I just need to get some ideas or something to help me out.

Thank you,
Aniket's wifey

if you are nervous about cutting your daughter's hair I would start off by cutting maybe at least 3 or 4 inches off and adding some long layers it would be easier for you and her to manage.

Dear aniket's wifey,
Before you consider any more about chopping all that gorgeous hair off, see if you have tried everything. Good conditioner? Detangling sprays & shampoos? If you have and all the tangles and long detangling is still a big struggle you may want to ask her if she wants shorter hair. If she agrees than you can cut it a bit, such as 5-6 inches. It takes a while to find out what looks good on a child and what the child and you both like. I only said cut a bit because if you go ahead and chop up to shoulder length it will take a while to grow back if she doesn't like it. when she gets older she can decide for herself what she wants her hair to be like but for now
good luck,
veena

Texturizing spray for thin hair
Hello everyone,
I have medium volume hair but my hair type is very thin and silky. Due to which my hair doesn't hold curls for long hours. I have heard that texturizing spray helps to solve the above problem. Could someone please suggest the good texturizing spray for thin hair?... - Amulya Peru [View Message]
