I am anitha from chennai, doing my last yr of MCA. our family has planned for a trip to triupati on 25th Aug and my parents and my younger sis who has got into a reputed eng college is getting their head shave at triupati inorder to fullfill their vow.from last weekend my mom is suggesting me to get my head shaved there for my well being... so now i am confused to agree or not for the tonsure. As i have hip length hair, and also afraid how my classmates will comment on me seeing my bald look.pls share any experience of this kind or your suggestion so that i can think of deciding on the same. also is it advisable to get tonsured if we have slight dandruff. hari replied. hi anitha did ur headshave fineshed, now how is ur bald head, please share me ur experience like photos of ur bald head nd etc. kalpana replied. i am also going to tirupathi by the end of this month i too have long flowing hair upto my hips you must be bald by this time give me your experience does it pain when shaving?

go ahead and get get ur mottai done at triupati..as radha said headshave for couple of times is good method to control dandruff and that too ur whole family is getting their head shave done is really gr8. on last apr during our family visit to triumala, my mil disclosed her decision of getting my headshave done there.. i was shcoked and didnt agree for the same, but she was very firm on her decision and said it for my good as i had severe dandruff.. myself,mil and my hubby went to kalayanakatta and my hubby got 2 tickets for the shave.. my mil accompained me to the female and kid tonsure section and made me wait in the queue for the headshave.. during that time she consoled me saying this is the best method to control dandruff.. as my turn came she unbraided my waist length hair and made me sit in front of the barber..barber massaged my head and made two knots... and started from middle..then left and right.. he did the whole process once more to ensure that no hair is left... i was crying during the whole prcess helplessly... my mil then applied chandan and we proceed for darshan... she is getting my head shaved for the last 3 months smoothly.. and apply lemon or onion extract to control dandruff... i have jus now started growing my hair... and in jan i be getting my tonsure again at triumala inorder to offer clean healthy hair... so go ahead and get ur mottai done.. Radha replied. Dear Anitha, it is a great opportunity when your parents encourage you to get tonsured at a religious place. Since your mother and sister are also tonsuring, you have great company and do not miss the opportunity to make it a complete family mottai.
To get tonsured is a very nice experience and no one, including young females, should miss it. When young girls have a desire to get tonsured, some elders do not approve it. In your case your mother herself is suggesting it. What better opportunity for getting mottaied?
You say hip-length hair. So What? You will get it back in 4 years flat. Do not worry. Some friends will make fun of your bald head but mostly out of love and fun. No one will seriously object to a religious tonsure. Smile with a bald head and others will smile at you. And you can see my postings earlier in connection with Kamala' daughter' s mottai (30-5-2009).
So stop doubting, go get shaved on 25th with a happy smile and a contented heart. And enjoy moving around bald.
And getting tonsured is okay even if dandruff is there. In fact, after the tonsure you can apply some herbal medication to fully cure it. (I donot know the details of medication). I am also from chennai.gud to here that ur family members and u have planned a trip to tirupati congrats for ur sister that she has got an seat in a reputed college.Its very nice to that she is also going to have a shave.Its my suggestion that u can also have a shave as its a vow and its for ur good that ur mother is asking u to have a shave also.When i also was in college doing my MBA final yr i also had a vow and shaved at tirupati don' t worry abt how fast ur hairs ill grow it ill grow very fast within a span of 1 to 11/2 yrs ur hairs ill grow at least till ur shoulder.But u ill enjoy the head shave that to whn the barber shaves u head.
