Due Date Club May 2007:Howz everybody?

Hi May would-be Moms!

We are all getting so close to having our babies now, just wondering what you all are doing? How are you feeling, how are the doctor' s appointments going?

I am in my 33rd week, still living in a fool’s paradise and have not made any preparation for the coming baby. He/she will just pop up one day and somebody has to hit me over the head. Maybe once I start on my maternity leaves I can focus there.

My Hubby and mom are taking care of me, but mom is leaving day after tomorrow  god knows how I will manage then… I am due to visit my doctor tomorrow, any idea what they will do to me and the baby?

The hospital list in our board is quite helpful we have to make our bags soon.

Take care everybody, stay happy and kisses to the babies!

Hi Vinita... it was good to hear from someone who is interested in how everyone is doing: ) I guess this board is really slow, and I was wondering if we' d even hear from anyone delivering when its our time in May ! Anyway... I am kinda new here and joined recently, although had been browsing thru on and off. I am in the 33rd week too and this is my second time. I had a blast on this board during my first time when we had formed a very close bond with all the members of that board. Anyways... so how did your appt. go? I had one last week too, and all they did was the regular stuff. I had asked my OB about when they' do an internal check up and she said not until the 36th week. So until then it is going to be just the regular thing of checking the BP, WT, heart beats and the measurement of the tummy. Are you in India? Don' t know abt the procedures there. Hope you are managing good as your mom must have left by now. And yes... the hospital bag ! Seems like a while now... but will have to atleast jot down the things. Very little time left, although the last trimester seems to take forever ! But I am sure this time will also pass and very soon we will be cuddling our cute little bundles of joy!

Goodluck to you... and hope that this group does drop in for the birth announcements even though everyone has been keeping silent.

Take care... and enjoy!

stm

hi vinita.. good to hear from you again.

If you are a rice eater the it is no.1 culprit for bringing the sugar level up, as white rice is full of starch and the same goes with white bread too. I am sure you have been told about things to eat and what not to eat but these are just my 2 cents. Avoid white rice at all costs and you can have chapati or brown rice or cracked wheat instead of rice. All the best!

About whether it makes it easier since this is a second pregnancy, in some ways yes and some ways no : )

For the first timers, ignorance is bliss and so you take it as it comes and the second time you know what to expect at the delivery table and so in that respect you are more concerned about how it will all go, even before you get there. However.. the excitement is always there and whether it is the first or the second, one can´ t wait to see the little bundle of joy in the arms.

Hi stm,

Good to hear from you. And great to learn that you too are in 33rd week. My appointment went just as you indicated, all routine. Weight, BP, fundus height etc. The new thing I found out was that the baby is fixed and… I was asked to repeat my 1-hr glucose test as I did not go for the 3-hr one. I thought myself very smart as my diet is good with less sugar etc. I thought maybe the first test showed a wrong reading (132) in the next test I would definitely pass… but, this time its even higher 163 :( I feel so disappointed. I am already controlling, it is so difficult to control more. I am based in India.

As this is your second baby, you must be having lots of experience to fall back on, no? Does that makes things easy?

Hi Palak,
Eating both fruits is good for health but you have to be very cautious because banana would put you to gain weight. So better think about that and then there will be no chance of loss of weight.... - Neha [View Message]
