Hi all...
Today went for the 20 week Major ultrasound. Everything looks fine...The ultrasound specialist asked us if we would like to know the gender if she could look at it...we were hesistant, since we thought that we would have it in an envelope and take a peek, when we couldn't resist knowing it. So finally she stapled the paper and gave it to us..(Oh well I think we were eager to take a peek right away!!) Finally when we both decided that we would like to see the paper...guess what?!?!?!.... my intution was right (incase any of u remember what my intution was, from one of our previous discussions)...Yes I am having blue balloons:)
Our son was quite active, and it was a joy to see him, we got a recording in a videotape. We have decided to hold it as a surprise for our familes for a couple of months.
Also guess what????? I have really gained weight...Imagine 11 pounds in 1 month, but since I was skinny before pregnancy and hadn't gained weight until now, the doctor was pretty pleased that I finally did. I hope I don't put on unneccasry fat. My tummy looks biiiig, and salwars and maternity pants are such a relief to wear.
All along I believed I was Rh -ve but 2 blood tests have revealed that I am postive...so basically one less needle prick! Doctor has suggested that I have additional calcium supplements,if I think my diet does not have enough calcium rich products. Though the Prenatal has calcium, the calcium and iron tend to clump reducing the absorbtion, so he suggested taking the prenatal and the calcium hours apart from each other.
The triple marker test also came out with good results. My next appointment is on Nov 5th, when they will test for Diabetes.
My good wishes and prayers are with all who are sailing in the same boat. Oh...by the way my Due date has now been changed to 15 Feb! (close to valentine's day!!). I currently an in my 21st week and have felt baby movements since week 17...feels great!
Love and happy days ahead for all.
