Hair Care:My Hubby´ s Head Shave at Tirupati..
2009-07-08
Name: Sujatha

My Hubby is having a receding hairline and he says he would rather be bald by choice than worry about receding hairline. So he wants to keep his head shaved smooth.

I suggested him that he should get his head shaved for the first time at Tirupati.

Now the question I have is :

I have seen all the guys going to Tirupati grow their beards and not have their haircuts for 2-3 months.

Is it a must?Should I also ask him to grow his beard and not have his haircut for next 2-3 months?

Also is it a must to shave one' s Moustache?

Hi Sujatha, its not necessary you can take your husband as it is no need to grow hear and beard. Its a kind of belief which people carry with them. So do not worry go as it is

I don't think it is necessary to grow one's beard to get his head shaved in tirupati. Just the moustache will also do. I have seen many people who get their heads shaved without having beard or moustache so there is no compulsion.

Hey Sujatha, its not important to grow hair before going to tirupati. You can tell your husband to directly go and get it done.

Hello Sujatha,
So then what you have done can you share about that but it would be better to clarify all such doubts by your parents or in laws or through any priest so that your doubts will be cleared also.I wish you would comment on this.

Hi Danuja,we returned back this morning from Tirupati. My husband got his head shaved there. As suggested (Over this forum),as it was not a vow,he did not grow his beard. He got his head and moustache shaved.I think he looks stunning with his clean looks and I personally am enjoying the look and feel of his smooth shaved head.He shaved his head himself this morning. It is now upto him to grow his hair back or keep his head smoothly shaved though I would prefer a smooth shaved head now :)

Tina
Explain a little more about yourself. How old are you? Are you married? How ofter have you got your head shaved? Currently are you bald or having long hair? Why are you messaging in incoherent language? (´ Hi´ in one message, ´ what do you mean by hair fetsih´ in another, ´ hi all iam myself tina rao. i have different problem that is i dont know why i loke to get my head shaved regularly ...´ in the third? Without a coherent communication meaningful reply and discussion is not possible.

The main purpose of shaving one' s head in religious places like Tirupati is removing one' s ego in front of God. What is the purpose of removing head hair if mush is kept which a symbol of male ego? No, for a fruitful religious tonsure, the mush, the beard and the head hair - all have to go. Only a very small tuft on the crown of head can be left uncut as some Northies do.
A razor shave on the head should be done either at a religious place or during a bereavement. So it is appropriate that you are asking ur hubby to shave first in Tirupati. After that ask him to get a close buzz cut (with zero clippers) than a razor shave.

Hi,

Why do you say a zero clipper cut ? razor one is still smoother. Isn´ t that a better option ?

It' s a good decision that he wants to shave his head smooth. encourage him.

Since it is not a vow, it is not mandatory to get it at Tirupati only.
Visiting a local barber shop or asking the barber to visit your home will get the work done. Better get it at home because barber can devote more time to make it smooth by doing shaving the entire head twice or thrice in all possible directions.

If you prefer it in Tirupati:

he need not have to grow his beard and avoid his regular haircuts just for his purpose, because it is not a vow.

Regarding moustache:

If it is in Tirupati better he remove his beard and moustache along with head shave. If it is a local head shave it' s upto your like. But a bald head without moustache gives a good look.

best of luck.
