Hi
My daughter is 6 months old and doc advised to give water. She doesnot take water from bottle at all. She thinks its milk n pushes away. So I give water in 'small sangu' what we use in India to feed baby. She takes fine in it but amount is very less.
If water is this case , how can I feed her juice then ? I didnot start juice still. Can I start now ?
Pls advice,
tq
Maha

Hi Maha,
I have a 7 month old daughter. She won't take bottle I have given her water using the 'sangu' and now that she is learning a lot, she knows how to outsmart me. I have to come up with new tricks inorder to give her water or juice. Now I use the medicine dropper. I have also tried the sippy cup and a regular tumbler. But the dropper seems to be working better now. What I do is try the sippy cup for a while (I even took the spill proof valve out).

You can very well give her juice but not more than 3oz a day. I usually give my girl 2 oz and 2 oz of water at this age. You can start with white grape juice and then introduce apple and pear nectar for now. We have to make sure that we don't give too much of water or juice as it will limit their milk/formula intake. Try to give water after giving solids(have you started giving solids?) Anyway, good luck with everything. Let me know how things go.

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
