Name: Hetal
sheetal, read your post about talking...
thought of sharing somethings reg that...
baby babbling patterns are basically the first signs that your baby is trying its best to twist and play with his tongue, mouth and cheeksss muscles,,,,the second sign will be drooling alot without ne sign of teething,,wherein she will TWIST her tongue and try hard to speak the words wherein the tongue twisting is required first...,,
our role as a mother,,whenever these signs are seens,,its right time for us to expose them to maximum vocabulary pssible for them...
a big picture books, and all m sure you must be trying,,,keep trying....speech involved some coordination of 70 muscles and some parts like tongue, palletttee,,,,teeth,,muscles and opening and closing of jaw to stimulate the speech,,also not to mention the main vocal chrd...for us, we worry but we have to understand that all these muscles takes awhile in coordnatng with eachother and produce perfect speech ! which often happns 2 years and onwards...
and i would like to agree to one of the members that the exposure to other kids make them learn better way thn wat we can do..i too have seen alot of diff in nirja speech, action and suchh skills,,and in a way,,it reduced our work/energy of teaching them !!!
one shouldnt be worried until the baby is 18monnths,,and like all said,,give her more opportunity to talk to you,,never mind if thats babblng,,,read alot, give her eye contact and keep trying to show how the words spell with lip movements and tongue movemnts,,its alot of hardwork, and needs alot of patience,,and time involved is months !!
also, the words that starts from d,b,a,are more easily picked up,,so try on them...or wahtever are your baby first letters,,teach her words starting from that letter,,,she will be more comfortable in starting with the letters she already knows to pronounce,,,,for nirja her first word was ba,,so i started with ball..and likewise..i cant expect her to L correctly though...
talk alot irrespective of repeated failures,,most kids exposed to around 2000-2800 words a day from their parents which includes daily actual talks to their kids and not just the words itself,,,,were able to speak and express just rightly by the time they were 2 years of age,,better than the kids who spoke 2letter words early !!!
what matters is how huge was the vocabulary and how much baby responded in his own bablng speech !! responsiveness and willingness to respond is the key,,master key is to keep trying and gving them more n more opportunity to express thru words,,by speaking the resp word related to resp action, by constant repetition and sign language...
hope this helps,,,talked to some kansas frnds, and rem you and anu alot...
chal bye take care,,have a wonderful diwali !
