Appu does not seem to want to eat anything nowadays.he seem hungry but does not want to open his mouth to eat.cries when he is put in the high chair,tried feeding him other ways too.no luck.anybody going thru this ?

Hi,

I know it is very difficult to let go,I was also very hesitant in the beginning,in the evenings he used be very fussy, so i used to just leave him.1/2 after his usual feeding time he wld start crying for food, that time i wld just feed him.

let me try the method followed by your cousin.but it is difficult letting him go without eating.i feel really down if he does not eat.

Hi Sumitha,

I know one plan which my cousin told me about, she said , if he does not want to eat just leave him.Try giving him food at the usual time , try for 15 mins, if he does not eat then just leave him.I know it is a bit hard for us to do,but it actually works.

U can even try putting on the tv (if he has any favourite shows)and then feed him.Or trying giving him juices,yogurt or any other food that he loves a lot.

Check if he is gassy,if he is , he will surely not feel like eating anything even though he is hungry.If he does not want to sit on high chair, make him sit on ur lapand try feeding him...
but anyways first check if he is gassy.

HI sumitha,
I have a friend whose daughter is like this, no idea why she doesn't it either..doc say no tummy upset or anything.
Check for signs of teething/any kind of pain/throat trouble/tummy ache etc..
Throat/tummy only doc can tell. teething/ any pain is assumption on ur part.
Once they start walking have heard they all get fussy. Anu is also picky about food but as days go by realize she doens't like jar food/cereal as much now more interested in what we eat. Likes fruits esp banana/oatmeal packets we eat (powder it in food processor a bit),etc..try different types of food is all i can say, but u would have more experience than all of us :)
if he is not drinking milk either, maybe something is bothering him. maybe has a sore throat..hope u can figure it out soon..Hope others can help u..
