Congratulations to all of u here on this board. I have a doubt regarding my HCG counts. I have a irregular cycle it has always been 33 to 34 days cycle. But, sometimes it gets late by a week too. So, now that I' m pregnant I' m not sure which week I should be in. My HCG count has come very low, its 160. So, my nurse said that I might be too early in pregnancy so has called me again on monday for another blood test.

I' m so damn tensed. This is my first pregnancy. If I it was a 33 day cycle then this should be my 6th week and if it was a 40 day cycle then I must be in week 5 now. Does anyone of you have similar experiences or have heard of anything like this. Low HCG like, 160 in 5th or 6th week and rise in HCG after few weeks and a normal pregnancy throughout.

Please help me out here. I' m not able to wait till monday. The docters are not working here in US as we have a 4 days thanks giving break here. So, I will have to wait till Monday no choice.

HCG levels are low during initial weeks of preg but it starts increasing as preg progesses.
Do not worry at all.Relax! that' s all your baby needs.
Keep updated after the test on Monday. I' m sure HCG levels will increase.

HCG level should ideally double in 48 hours. That is the indicator for a healthy pregnancy. So even if your 160 doubles to 320 within 48 hours then it is a very good sign. Even my HCG level initially was low at 371 but then it more than doubled to 1071 within 48 hours. So get your blood work done asap to determine the rate of rise of HCG.
