Hi,
Generally about 10-12 days before I get my period, I have lumpy,painful,heavy breasts and they become normal as soon as my period starts. I had read it happens because of the increase in levels of progesterone during luteul phase. But the cycle I had conceived my son, I had no such symptoms[maybe it was because of all the medication i was taking while TTC]. So now, when I start having the same symptoms, I can't help thinking I am not pregnant this time. Can u tell me if the same symptoms can be seen in pregnancy too? I am only reading about other pregnant IP members having sore breasts, not any lumpiness archie replied. Meena,
Lumpiness is something you may not identify by yourself. You may want to say sore/heavy breast with tingling sensation, if this is what you are telling then it's luteal phase and due to elevated progesterone. This is common for both pregnant and non-pregnant luteal phase. If the progesterone levels are shooting then it's good news from body part, you won't be worried on low progesterone level, this is an important hormone which supports pregnancy.

do not loose heart and do not think so much. each pregnancy is different. If you really think there is a lumpy sensation at a particular point of breast get it checked by Gynecologist or have a mamogram done, I don't suspect lump in your breasts. They will not disappear with period if there exist any.
