Hi Sheetal,
Saw your note on Anu's progress.
You also said you are aware of fact that each baby is different.
I see nothing wrong with her. As said by Sudha have your concern waived by her paediatrician, hopefully you will be fine after that.
Yet, I want to share our experience with Advait. He did not crawl almost until 9 months. He would be happy getting toys from distance by moving on his stomach, which he had started whenhe was 5 months.
I also had him a walker (with wheel and circular), he got used to that from the beginning of six months age.
When started to cruise it was his 10th month and immediately started to walk by holding to walls, crib, couch etc. Sure enough he was almost like Anushka until 13 months age. Where one fine evening his Dad got little upset and brought my mistake to my attention.
My mistake was: I was afraid of him falling on ground, so that floor outside house is soft carpet, I just did not wanted him to, I would always hold his hand and walk him. Hid Dad pointed this and told there will be millions of time he will fall in his life and we won't be there to see or we will never know. He has to learn to overcome things and this is where that should start.
That evening he took him in corridor without me leaning through door. I think Advait fell off for a two or three times and his Daddy was still stubborn trying. I think for next two days Advait did not wanted to go in corridoor without me but his father won it finally. Because he would do the same thing with Advait in house too. He would be 2-3 feets far from him and making him walk. Trust me in about 2-3 days Advait was ready to take independent walk for 2 blocks, of course he was wobbling.
So in all, like Suchie and Smile said try encouraging Anushka for walking without holding her finger but not standing too far to scare her enough. It's the first step what she is afraid of. Once she achieves successfully she will love it. The more you provide her with your finger the longer she will take time towards her first step:-)
