Hi,
This is my 34th week, and on friday and saturday, I had slight period like stomach pain,, and i noticed very little white discharge. I told this to my doc on saturday during my visit. She observed the heart beat and said I am not goinbg into labor (I guess the head' s still not down/engaged), but she said that my stomach has tightened, and recommended duvadalin retard, for a week.
Yesterday, my baby darling, made up run on our toes,, from morning till 3 o clck literally no movements.. and the baby so far was veryyyy active.. every 5-10 minites i feel the movements (iam slim, that cud be 1 reason.. as how the doc said).. we were all worried,, and called up the doc, she asked me to take up an NST and let her know.
Very Naughty baby, the moment the device was put on my tummy, it started moving and seemes like literally it was trying to push off the device.. it took 10 mins to get a stable baselined fetal heart beat but touchwood it was noirmal(140-150).
The doc who took the test aslo said that stomach has tightened and uterus is showing irritablity and asked me to take the duvadalin tabls without fail for 2 more weeks so that i cud complete 36 weeks.
Now pls clarify,, what does this mean? Any problem? Pre-term labour? Is it ok if I take those tabs??
And does the uterus tightening have anything to do with the baby' s less movements?
i was operated for appendicitis in my 14th week of pregnancy.. worried abt getting a c-section again..though iam open for all, as long as it is fine for the baby..
Pls clarify !!!

Hi Shalini,

I am a 2nd time mom and have just started my 32nd week today and even i was feeling the tightening of tummy and also the abdominal pain. Since my first son was born in 34th week i wanted to make sure that atleast i have a full term baby this time.

Had last appointment with my doc on the 17th march and he has prescribed me NIFEDIPINE 30MG to avoid preterm labour.

So even i am a bit worried as even i am getting worried about tummy tightening and abdominal pain.

Hope we all have a full term pregnancy.

Thanks,

Hi Mihika,
Just a note: Try google search for NIFEDIPINE. The results show that it is used majorly to lower blood pressure and to treat chest pain. Are these the symptoms you had, cos u mentioned abdominal pain and tightening right?
Pls, do confirm with your doc again, just to be more cautious and sure.
And yes, lets pray for a full term pregnancy !!
My DD is 8th May, what abt yours?
Regd ur first baby delivered in 34 weeks,. did the baby cope up well after the delivery? No issues right ?? (Just in case that happens to me too !!!)

Take care and get confirmed regd the medicine again..

Saradha,
Thanks for this info..
anyways me and ma (my mil) have planned that soon we wud get a small pastic scale, to give punsihment to the l´ il one for being so naughty inside ha ha ha :-)
I was telling ma the other day, that if the baby tries to come out before 36 weeks, I am going it push it back in again and shut it there and wud not let it out till 36 weeks !! ha ha !!
Lets see. as of now fingers crossed, I hope the tablet does its work and hold the baby for atleast 15-20 more days !!
