Hi Girls
Have u all started ur homework to send papers to ur parents to come to the USA.
Lets build a checklist of what all is needed to be sent from here. Also what all is needed from their end to prepare to apply for Visa.
How long does it take to get Visa.
First time itself will they give Multiple Entry.
Is it ok if my dad gets Visa but doesnt come, will it be a problem the next time he applies?

Your thots on this is appreciated.

I also started thinking abt what all my mom can get from India.
Massage Oil is good idea.
I was thinking of 'Sambrani' I donno what its called in Hindi or Eng. Its like mini crystals that u put on hot coal, its to give nice smell to hair and body after bath. It gives nice sleep also. They use this for babies in India.
I was thinking of some simple clothes also to wear till 3 months.
U get everything here also, jus donno what she can get then.
Any ideas girls?

Hi Bhavani,

I know about Sambrani. It is used for smal babies after their head bath. I remember my grandma doing for my Aunts kids. But I am not sure if we can do that here in US. Because that gives lot of smoke kind of thing, these smoke detectors at house might not allow it. Also it is difficult to get hot coal here right. Thinking all these, I am not asking my parents to bring that.

Probably I will ask them to bring some nice Indian clothes, some small toys which baby can hold and that makes sound. Indian sound making toys are very small and handy. Coming to Baby massage oil, I am thinking we can use jhonson baby oil. Do we use any different oil in India ? Please advise. Also, I might ask them to bring bath powder If I am going to have a girl. Bath powder is made of with some special natural stuf and that is good for babies skin to make it smooth and bright.

That's all I remember so far.

Sambrani is a tamil word.

'Sambrani' is in which language?? I'll try to ask my friends. I don't think we have ever used any such thing for the baby or I don't know at all.

Hi Bhargavi,

I send papers to my parents for getting visitor visa. Visit wwwdotimmihelpdotcom and wwwdotpath2usadotcom. They are real good sites and they list all the necessary documents which we have to send and which our parents has to prepare. They have everything starting from sponsor documentation to filing fees and addresses fro embassy and other services. They also have sample letters. Look for visitor visa documentation under immigration. I used this information totally when I prepared the Documents. Check it out.
