Routine Tests:growth problems in level 2 ultrasound

Name: sonia kapoor This is the first time I am posting my message but I am reading this website since last 6 months.
I am 27 years old and got pregnant in april. Last month when I was 20 weeks,I had the level 2 ultrasound and doctor told me that the baby had excessive fluids in the brain so they called me back after 4 weeks. I went there on last friday and the doctors found a couple of problems.
First he said the baby had fluids in his brain. Second he said the baby's head is 24 weeks which corresponds to my pregnancy weeks but his said his body is only of a 21 weeks fetus. I asked about the gender of the baby but he mentioned something about Ambiguous Genitiala where its hard to say if its a boy or girl.
He recommend us to get the Aminocenthesis test to rule out any chromosomal abnormalities but me and my husband are very relcutant.
I have never heard of all these things in my life and we both don't have any family history of these problems.
Last year I had the miscarriage at 7 weeks and i got pregnant again trying after 7 months. I am so depressed and don't know what to do. My doctor is going to transfer me to another hospital for high risk pregnancy but she is on vacation now.
I can't concentrate on anything and don't know what is going to happen.

Chromosomal tests are nowadays very normal and if the doc is suggesting u to take one,u better take it.there is nothing to be worried or afraid of if there is no such history in both ofur familes.one of my friends who is now in her 7th month alsounderwent this same kind of issue when she was in her 4th month.they made her take all possible chromosomal,downsyndrome tests.it went well as there was no history in their families.u r reluectant now but once u take the test u will feel relieved and this isthe time to enjoy ur motherhood experience.instead u r brooding in some unknwn fears which is not good for u/baby.so take ur step and proceed as doc says.everyhting will be fine.natufre is always a friend to human..all the best..this is just a suggestion and not any advise as ur mess really made me to respond to u and i have been with my friend during her hard times.takecare..
