The pediatrician said no need to boil milk.

If you still want to boil milk , just to be on safer side - boil it in “aluminum” vessel with thick base – Indian pressure cookers are of aluminum metal. Always keep flame on medium.
The milk burns out in stainless steel, non-stick and even copper bottom vessels and leaves burnt smell.

Hope this helps,
Suchie.

Hi all,
Thanks everyone for your tips. I was just browsing the net & found out that its perfectly safe to give whole milk without boiling. I think it is easier to just warm it up in a microwave. Its hard to clean the vessel also if we boil.
Nisha, I give cold stuff like juice to my baby. She seems to be OK with that. Pls dont offend anyone who is just trying to help here.
Regards,
Divya

Hi Divya,

We also faced the similar issue sometime back in India. We use cow milk for Advait and once comes boil it for 5mins so that all germs etc. get vanished. Keep the milk whole day outside only and whenver required to give him, just heat up little in seperate vessel and give him.

If you are boiling once or twice you should not face this issue. But still if you are, may be layer must be thin, try using thicker layer vessel for biling purpose.

Sudha

Hi Nisha,

the milk here in US is completely pasteurized. We have never boiled the milk here and there has been no problem yet. Even for Anushka, I dont boil the milk ever and she is completely fine with it. I know winter is gonna start. But as far as I have noticed, here in US, you don't catch a cold by eating or drinking any cold items like in India. You get a cold for other reasons like, u catch it from some other kid, or a cold bug, or sth like that. If you have a cold and u go to a doctor, the doctor never tells us to stop eating/drinking any cold things.

When I was in india, i wuld immediately start coughing if I had any cold items like more than twice. But thats not the case here. Besides, she loves it cold and she drinks it like juice. I am happy that she drinks it all.

I could be wrong. But well, thats how things are working for me and my baby for now.

Regards,
Sheetal

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

HI Gayathri,

I used the puzzles, the wooden blocks for alphabets and numbers.... - Sheetal [View Message]
try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
