Greetings from Jananam
We are located at Neelangarai, Chennai - a silent outskirts of chennai. We have state of art and single specialty fertility centre. Our MD, Dr. Selva works for Harley street clinic and has built this centre in par with international standards. Our Medical Director Dr. Vani Sundarapandian, MD, DGO, MRCOG (UK), Master of Reproductive Medicine (Australia)has 10 years overseas experience (UK and Australia) and though being an abs and gyne, practices only fertility. We are getting very good results due to the state of art IVF lab. We welcome you to visit Jananam fertility centre

We are coming in August to Chennai for our third IVF. We had 2 failed cycles in US and looking for IVF in Chennai.
One of my friend has referred Srushti fertility centre.
Can you pls give me your inputs about the centre.
Looking forward to hear from you all.
acpreethi replied. Thanks a lot for ishwarya hospital for giving me success.
I was referred to this hospital by my close friend from tiruppur who conceived by ivf here 2 years ago.
my case was totally tough and I had 2 test tube baby failure till some time ago done in bangalore. I was told that my endometrial thickness was low always during embryo transfer by reviewing the previous report. this time I was offered a treatment with icsi and I again had a same problem in ishwarya, but my embryos were frozen this cycle here and I was adviced with frozen embryo transfer and finally I conceived here immediately. now I am very happy. thanks for the individualised care during icsi. long live this hospital doctors and staff. a special thanks to dr.chandralekha, dr.devi and staff kanmani and ranganayaki who took care of me during the hospital stay. in bangalore I wasted almost 2.5 lacs per cycle, here finally everything got over by 1.6 lacs. thanks a lot.

I have just started my treatment there. Seems to be genuine centre with good achievements. they just celebrated their 20th year to which all the babies born was invited. it was really promising to see them all.
Radhika replied. Good see your comments! You know my dear The first person The legend Embryologist Bob Edwards is got a nobel prize in Medicine(IVF).There is no Gynec doctor got this prize so far.So you should understand how much importance to the Embryologist.
Coming to your question:-
1).The clinic should be OHSS free clinic
2).In house - IVF -clinician/In house Embryologist
3).It should be preferably ongoing cases - no batching
4)The pregnancy has to be consistent at least (40%)
5.The success rates- role Embryologist 50% Gynec 50%
This clarification is the blind man catching the buffalo tail and assuming thinking that its an elephant tail.
This is to understand about the ivf and to choose the best ivf centre.
Good Luck...
Radhika replied. I really don' t know about there success rates of these centers..chennai fertility center success rates are very high compare to any ivf center in chennai. All of us think that ivf is Gynec procedure.but its not..The IVF - Embryologist plays a major role in getting ivf-success.Most of these ivf center they doen' t have in-house embryologist..In chennai fertility center..the magic man embryologist dr.thomas is there..he give very good ivf-success rates.I strongly suggest CFC for IVF.
Partha replied. Hi Guys,
I ve been researching quite a lot about the various centres and treatment options available for us in Chennai.
We have got enuf leave in May and thats when we will be going for our ivf. I am really worried about the hot weather in may.
Centres that we have shortlisted:
1.Srushti fertility centre, Dr Samundi Sankari
2.Prashanth fertility centre, Dr Geetha Haripriya
3. Apollo Hospitals, Dr Sarat
We have decided the top 3 based on their response and knowledge and skills of the dr in the centres.
Please do have a look and suggest key points so that we will get prepared to pack our bags.
Looking fwd for valuable inputs.
Happy replied. Dear all,
I am 29 years old, i am married 2 years back my wife' s age is 26 now, we are a happy married couple. we planned for children after 4 years from our marriage.
so took steps accordingly.
My cousin who is 35 years old also did the same thing like planning for pregnancy 5 years later, later on it was so tough for them to conceive. i have seen them depressed for years, Pressure from both families and she faced criticisms from neighbours and relatives.
Then through this discussion forums, and web research, they had met few doctors and took treatments, but couldn' t get success, they lost all the hope.
At last by one of our friends suggestions they approached Dr.Sankari mam in Chennai. That decision changed the life of them, they got good treatment, excellent care and support from all of them in the hospital.Initially they had to wait for few more days for the success, but finally they got the success, and i can see them happy now, they had undergone IVF treatment, in one year of their treatment they go their dream baby.
Really doctors are great, as they can bring happiness in our lives.
I am not at all worried now because i am taking regular follow up with the same doctor, i have faith that i will not struggle like my cousin.

meena replied. This is the best news in the world. I am going to a mother. She sees only a selected no. of patients each month and takes personal care. She is not commercialised like so many others around. many thanx Dr. Richa, you are the best.
Govind replied. We want to have ICSI at Iswarya hospital. Would you please let us know how much it will cost?
thanks replied. i am from vellore. initially i was undergoing treatment with Dr.jayaganeshan near vellore. i did iui 3 times there.. din conceive. finally saw a lot of advices in net. preferred either iswarya or gg. went for second opinion to few ivf clinics in chennai. a lot of them suggested ivf for me. but a lot of ivf clinics costs were extremely high in other hospitals.then i preferred iswarya women' s hospital. here the doctors were kind enough and gave me encouragement. after getting counseling from them, the procedure was started. ovulation induction was done by scan monitoring for me. my husband had slightly lesser count. finally the docs suggested to go for icsi procedure considering our age group.i was told 4 good embryos were formed after ivf by blastocyst method..then single embryo was transferred and i asked them to freeze the other embryos. now conceived in iswarya by icsi. its my 2nd month. now we are proud ourselves that we are going to become mother and father.. thanks to this method of treatment. i suggest any couple who are in need of ivf treatment to go to iswarya.
regarding treatment its one of the best, i hope.
i heard there are other ivf clinics in chennai which have good ambience and treatments. finally found success rate is good here...
jothi usa replied. i conceived by frozen icsi here. i suggest anyone to go here. i have a seen a lot of couples leaving this clinic with positive results. i had a failed ivf in southern california reproductive center first. then did an ivf with dr.malarselvi.initially came here only for second opinion. finally conceived in iswarya. fro my reports it was found that the endometrial thickness was a problem in conceiving which would find difficult to reach the normal thickness during embryo transfer. this time it was monitored correctly and finally i tasted my success here. we are thankful to you..
hi replied. Hi, i see you are looking up for a good ivf centre in chennai. I came from US to chennai in 2010 for IVF. I didnt have anyones proper advice for a good centre, thought every centre might be the same and went to ishwarya clinic in adyar and had the worst treatment that i would never forget in my life. More than time and money the pain that we go through when it fails is very intense. Later i was guided to Dr.Sarat in Apollo hospital in greams road chennai where i had ICSI which is similar to IVF and it was successful. Now im a tired but a happy mom :) of my twin sons.
It is upto you to choose a hospital but before going through IVF carefully look for these few points.
1.First, see whether they do IVF or ICSI in batches if so do not even bother to make an appointment with that doctor. Every ones body reacts different to the medicine when they do in batches they try to make you ovulate according to their convenient date which doesnt work. I usually ovulate little late, in ishwarya clinic they tried to push me to a earlier date and finally they got just two eggs during egg collections where as in apollo they dont do in batches so the doctor waited till my follicles were in good size to go thro the treatment and it worked out great.
2.Secondly, see if the fertility centre has any branches if so avoid that centre. During the follicular study there might be different situations every day so the doctor must be there everyday to see your report in person. In ishwarya fertility centre in Adyar, Dr.Chandraleka is a very busy woman as she has branches in pazhani, coimbatore, chennai, and new one recently opened in Madurai. During my follicular study she was in some other city so the other doctor use to call her up asking for the medicine dosage and solution for any problems. The doctor was available only twice before the treatment and she doesnt talk properly or try to clear my doubts, all her answers were rude. Ones she was talking to her travel agent while she was doing TV-Scan which was down right rude and not a good manner for a doctor. In Apollo the doctor was there everyday and whenever something appeared to be wrong in the scan he would do a double check on the scan and would suggest the rightful solution.
3.If the doctor suggest you to go through any laproscopy or any other treatment before IVF or ICSI or IUI you try to get some second advice from some other doctor before you go through it. Again in ishwarya fertility centre Dr.Chandraleka made me to get a diagnostic Laproscopy which later i was told was completely unwanted. When i asked her if this is necessary as i was completely fine her answer was not informative rather she asked me whether im ready to take chances. This would commonly happen in many fertility clinics so be aware of that.
4.See if they are providing you with the proper papers when they do the treatment. In Ishwarya i was not given a single piece of paper of my follicular study or the Egg collection or the embryo transfer process. I was not told how many embryos were going to be transfered, when i asked the doctor during the transfer she said why are you bothered about it. Later after transfering she enquried from a nurse and told me 1 embryo. More than the number of embryos when she asked the nurse for the number after transfering it into me gave me the ultimate shock. In apollo they gave me a clear record of the treatment and the medicine and the dosage of it. After my egg collection i was introduced to my embryologist who would let you know of the number and the development of the embryos. After my transfer i was given clear papers of the transfer and also the picture of the embryos transfered :)
5.Infrastructure is very important. In Ishwarya fertility clinic, Adyar there werent enough beds when they did the treatment in batches. They had 5-6 beds while there were 20-25 in every batch they did.
This is all my personal experience in both the places. Wherever you choose try to go through these points before you go through the treatment because more than the physical pain, the pain in the heart is too much to bear when the ivf fails. But do not give up hope, second try was my lucky one.... hope your second try would be lucky too. All the best!

Dear Radhika,
How are you so confidently mentioning that IVF depends on only embryologist?
I had a very bad experience of hyperstimulation by which my life was at stake.
If the Dr had not handled it properly, i dont know what would have happened.
Embryologists role is only 20%. If the Dr does not give proper stimulation, you wont even develop proper eggs which was also my problem.
I read an article about Dr Thomas getting many unrecognised awards by paying money. I really dont know if this is real, but i read in some newspaper.
JFYI
