Thx for all the info about ear piercing..did find JCpenny salon and pierced anu's ears.

My experience

We went 2 weeks back to the JCPenny salon, enquired all about the piercing, earring type, if we could buy,how its done,etc.
Took an appointment after 2 weeks..though anu was with us, we were just terrified.
Lady there did calm us a lot, and answered queries very patiently..sat is less rush hour so she had all the time in the world.
Procedure she said was as follows
1. they mark the place u want it pierced
2. Numb the area with the dental gel u get when u get ur tooth worked on. (safe for kids..i did speak to my doc)
3. Then they have a gun and earring with a push type end(almost like nail stapler type if u have seen carpenters use) small plastic type gun.
4. They prefer earrings from their place..since its suitable for the gun and easy to put in..have choice of 14Kgold/some studs..i chose the smallest one so she cannot tug/pull and gold so it has least infection.
5. They give antiseptic to apply for 6-10 days after bath..and regular intervals. U can give her bath, but see that no soap/shampoo touches her ear for a few days..(though its ok..if it does.just precaution)
All this costs less than 20$ including antispetic & earring.

Anu was tugging her ears in the morning..with everyone around getting ear infection..i was sure she is starting too, took her at 7am on sat to the doc, ear infection had just started..anyway got a chance to clear out doubts of piercing with her. She said shouldn't be aproblem with ear infection since this is outside the ear..and if they do numb the ear, its fine though she will cry :) ..
First we were in 2 minds..then took her anyway..since she wuld be protected with the antibiotics anyway now. Anu was fine till the marking and mirrors in salon..what scared her was the noise of the gun..though not loud..but startles kids. She wailed like crazy..i then thot ok one ear is fine..its anyway fashion..:) then decided to have some guts and finish it..i am sure whole store knew about anu piercing..:) ,many worried grandmoms came to cheer her later:) next ear she refused to let the lady touch it kept shaking head to avoid anyone touching it..so breastfed and managed second one. she hated the noise, luckily was mall so took her out saw toys/curtains to play with, she had her regular checkout guy..and got a huge rag doll bigger than her :) (think it was our gulit feeling we got her that..much less her need)
Anyway now its 2 days,she is fine..we can move the earring without pain, she can touch it without any pain. So all in all, besides 15 min of regret..now feel good we did it now..should have earlier maybe 4-5 month after first vaccinations. we keep looking at her looks different. she is wondering why i kept holding her whole day. something i will remember..

Anu's ear...Itz all over now just matter of 10 mins guilt now she can wear all fashionable earrings,compete with mummy haha...Do post us some pictures....I am sure with earrings babie's look like a big girl...even i miss Tanaaz having the baby face...JC Penny is always good in handling babies,i took Tanaaz to Greatclips for haircut,but noway she ppl to touch her head i tried 3 times but in futile then i took her JCPenny salon ,the old lady somehow convinced Tanaaz gave her a haircut...Luv to Anu
