Hi, I am going for bald again. We are leaving for Tirupati on 9th and reach to Tirupati on 10th night. Stay in tirupati that night and on 11th early morning we are planning to reach Tirumala and have our tonsure then come back to Tirupati. My husband has a vow to come by foot to Tirumala,hence, he would come by walk and me and my daughter will reach by car / bus to the hill once he reaches there. we have taken darshan on 11th afternoon 3 p.m., then 11th night we will come back.
So, on 11th I am bald again as I was on Sep 2005. I would post my experience once I come back. This time, we r planning for head shaving video shoot with our digital camera. Siv replied. hi Mansa

I thinks you hair is growned about 5 to 10cms. Hope you have a next head shave in another 4 years time.

We, (me, my husband, my daughter & my brother-in-law) reached to Tirupati on 10th night 09:30 p.m. and checked into Bhimas Paradise hotel. We slept that night and on 11th early morning 05:00 a.m. me and my wife woked up and reached to Central Bus Station and from there to Tirumala, after we get down we reached to small kalyanakatta near PAC I, but found it was free, hence decided to go to big one (Main Kalyana katta), we deposited the cheppal into the stand and entered into the line. My husband asked me to take the ticket first, then that guy asked me is it Mottai, I did not understood, then my husband said that yes, he gave me a ticket, then my husband followed, then we reached to another one, that guy also asked the same and handed over the half blade to me, my husband also did like that. My husband suggested me to hide the ticket and blade since he wanted to go first. When we enter into the room, the barber called my husband (since he has North Indian features and took his ticket and blade and advised to wet his hair. My husband removed his track suit and wrap up the towel and wet his hair, by that time there was a long line at the barber. the barber convinced other people and advised my husband to sit first for shaving. My husband sat with wet hair,the barber did not satisfied and further wet his hair and started the head. I took 4 photos of him and finally took one photo for Lord Venkateswara and another barber came and advised me not take photos since it is not permitted. Finally the head shave of my husband completd and we pay him Rs.20/- as tip. Then my turn came. Women & children section is separate, hence we moved to that section. I removed my shawl and given to him and stood at the line. The barber was so nice and advised me to wait for 10 minutes in the meanwhile he would finish two heads of villagers. My husband asked him if I have to wet my hair, he denied and said that ' no I myself would wet, don' t wet' . He finished both the women and put some water on the floor and advised me to sit, I sat and completely bent my head, he raised my head and saw the length of the hair and said that it is a very good hair and put 1 mug of hot water on the head and completely massaged the head for 2 minutes, my husband advised him to wet the side burns also,he wet. My husband advised him to knot the hair,he tried to knot but said that the hair is not that much of lengthy to put knot, if I have rubberband, he would put, but I did not carried the rubberband, hence he parted my hair into two parts and changed the blade and started shaving from the crown and completed the back part and come to the front and completed, then right hand side and then left hand side. My husband requested him to smooth the head, he said that he can reverse the shave once again so that it would become smooth and started reversing the process fron nape, the feeling is so good when he started the process from nape. I completely surrendered my head to the barber and enjoying the process of reverse shaving. My husband showed him the spots where force has to be applied. I feel so comfortable with my husband' s cooperation. (we took snaps of reverse process & video for complete head shave 4 minutes 2 seconds).
Once my head shave completes the barber asked my husband to sit and started the reverse process and smoothen his head also.

The entire process completed by 07:30 and we comeout and had govindanamams and come down.

Manasa it is good for going head shave at Thirumala.Youhave to go to mini kaly-katta near to your cottage and offer some small amount to barber then it is to shoot hs perfectly.Wish you good headshave Ram Singh replied. Dear Manasa
It is really good to know that you are going to get your head shaved again at Tirupati. I have gone through with your headshave experience in Sep 2005. You had also messaged in Aug 2006 that your husband was kind enough to allow you to go bald again ' next year (i.e. probably in 2007)' . Anyway after 3 y 4 months you are becoming bald again. Good!

This time, are you going to get tonsured in cottage or Kalyanakatta? To the best of my knowledge they do not permit videoshoot in K' katta.

In 2006 Aug, you had boycut and had expressed a desire to grow to shoulder length for a second ' gundu' . What is your hair length now?

By the by, after your last tonsure did you go around bald or cover the head with a scarf? Are you going to go around with bare bald head this time?
