I read somewhere that EPO and flax seed oil is good to improve cervical mucus. I had a dryness problem this month.

Request pls let me know if EPO/flax seed oil would help. Also how to use the same and where would it be available in Mumbai, India. Would I require a doc's presci for it ?

I am extremely worried about the dryness thing !! Please help !!

Yes evening primrose oil and flaxseed helps.But take evening primrose oil till ovulation,after that start taking flax seed.You don't need doctor's prescription.It is available in india,one brand of evening primrose oil is PRIMOSA.Flax seed is available at grocery store and is known by the name ALSI. I had no mucus left and I had read that sperm needs good healthy mucus to \";swim\";. I month I tried I noticed a significant change in my mucus qantity and knew exactly when I was ovulating. I fell pregnant that month. Good luck. mADHU replied. Yes, EPO(EVENING PRIMROSE OIL) DOES TEND TO INCREASE THE CERVICAL MUCUS IN SOME WOMEN.

One of the key ingredients of EPO IS GLA(Gammma linolenic acid) which is a omega -3 fatty acid which is required by the body for various important functions.

In India u get GLA-120 capsules manufactured by dr. reddy's labs costing Rs.196 or so for 30 capsules. Each capsule has 120mg of GLA.

Since u have extreme dryness, it is better that u discuss this with your gynaec for the dosage of the capsules to be taken. U might require higher dosage.

So its best to get a prescription from your gynaec and then consume the capsules.

P.S One more thing these capsules have to be taken from only from begining of menstrual cycle till ovulation. In the luteal phase not to be taken as it causes uterine contractions.
